  • Looking for a first guitar to learn. How would you say this one is OP?

    • +1

      Yes perfect choice,

This is a solid top acoustic, you will find it hard to see any other guitars like this anywhere near this price.

      • Suitable for a child ~8yo to learn or too big?

        • +7

Might be a little big as tis a dreadnought shape.

  • I helped buy a Lag Tramontane for a friend a few years ago. It was the best acoustic-electric i could find under $500 at the time, and a quality build. This one is all acoustic (no pickup), and i'm not sure how much the current spec has changed. Anyway, this seems like a good buy.

I dont know many guitars I have. Now I have one more.

    • a fellow G.A.S. sufferer I see ;)

    • Same issue here

  • i have one of these in cutaway. Best bang for the dough. They normally go for much more.

  • +1

    low action?

  • +3

Regardless of action, steel string will hurt the first time learner. But no pain no gain.

    • Yep I reckon that why most beginners quit, due to sore fingertips. Plenty of secondhand guitars on the market as a result

    • Much easier to learn on an electric because of that.

  • Damn, was really hoping the code would work on the Occitania 70 too. Great price, but I really don’t need more steel string guitars.

    • +2

DM me and i can give you a code to process the nylon string one.

      • Please send me code for the nylon string too

        • please DM, there are only 2 of the Nylon ones available that I can do at the $149 price.

          • @elichu296: better ask your distributor to get some more. These will sell like hot cakes. :)

            • +1

              @nuno: I am trying

              • +1

                @elichu296: Hi @elichu296
Could I also get a code to purchase the Occitania 70 nylon?
I was not able to nab one of the Tramontane 70 :')
                Thanks

      • Cheers, dm sent!

      • PM'd :). Been looking for a nylon for ages, hope there's one more code you can share!

      • Could I please also have the code for OC70 too? I have dm. Thank you.

    • +1

maybe she could try a 3/4 size guitar

      • +1

        Or 2/3

        • Or 1/2… Anyone wants to go halves on this?

    • you need to use the code in checkout, there are 3 more left in stock

Anyone that's picked up a guitar with no clue where to start I've become pretty solid over half a year or so from using mostly Justin Guitar's free course and Marin Music Centre.

If you missed this deal or are looking for an electric I can vouch heavily for Artist Guitars. Excellent entry level guitars from an Australian brand, and they have amazing returns and warranty policies. They have a website but I've picked up a couple things from their eBay store as it regularly has 15% coupons activated.

Any recommendations for an acoustic guitar for someone middle-aged trying to learn the instrument? Would also appreciate if someone could also recommend a good self learning path.

    • I'd go for a second hand classical guitar, nylon string. You can get one for free if you're lucky, or buy one for $50 -$100 on gumtree.

For self learning, I would suggest buying a basic music book that has the chords for your favourite songs. I learnt by listening to the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, rolling stones… That's how you learn the basic guitar chords… C,F,G, Am, Dm, Em.. or E, D, A…etc.

Then I got some Jimi Hendrix guitar tabs and started learning that on electric guitar.

You can also go and get lessons.
