When you receive one check by copying a very large file (I would try at least a quarter the drive's stated capacity if not half) then copy the file back again. If it can't copy the full file to the drive it will error out at the actual capacity. The copy back will show if it's faking the full copy onto the drive.
But this could just be a clearance item they are trying to move very cheap.

some of the other silver/grey colours seem to work on kogan and dicksmith. for 1TB
The Dicksmith pages are loading again, however the 4TB and 2TB ssd cannot be added to the shopping cart. The 1TB does work though so I bought one for $20. Still a good deal so let’s see if they honour it.

I'd say 99% of were fully expecting that either:
A: It was a simple price error which seems to be the case given the cancellation emails
B: The product were going to be fakesHowever majority of us have also seen many an unbelievable deal either end up being delivered or the "compensation" offers being ridiculously generous (Bunnings spring to mind) to the point that we are really only wasting a few minutes jumping on board things like this.
My view is I can always get a refund from amex or whatever else.
$10 for maybe a 4TB SSD is a good bet.
