I see it has a "Random" button so lights go on and off at non-regular times…

these had negative reviews and ones that look identical with those shape buttons are sold under other brands with similar negative reviews (comments I remember were "it doesn't keep time" and "loses schedule" to "it died and you can't replace the battery inside"). but this one was cheaper from bunnings and I needed a silent timer so I went with it.
it's working just fine. just made sure to read the instructions carefully, they rely on a battery inside to keep time so the instructions first recommend to charge the battery by plugging it in for awhile. even though the display was working when it was still in the box, I plugged it in without pressing any buttons and just left it for half a day to charge the battery up, then after waiting setup the time and schedule etc. has been working perfectly since.
It is so much easier to use a smart plug, and program from a phone app. Lots of them seen here for not much more than this.
Yeah I assume that's why they are clearing these. People have moved with better tech.
What’s the most popular smart plug?
i been using the kogan ones for over 5 years now

runs thru the kogan smarter home app and tracks my energy usage and everything can turn off schedule etc pretty neat
Yep that’s what I did best move I ever made I don’t need a master degree in how to use it smart plugs for the win.
Just bought a couple of these. Gonna crack one open sometime and see how … wait… yours looks different to the ones I just bought for $5 at bunnings?

I bought these? Buttons on top. Weird. Maybe they're clearing out one of the types to unify the product across all stores?
Anyway, I just want to see how easy it'd be to trigger from 3.3v or 5v logic, Arduino ESP32 etc
I've had one of these for a while, using the Countdown timer function for a heated towel rail. PIA to set up (it's not intuitive, you'll have to read the instructions) but once it's going it's fine. The only negative for me is the display, it's tiny and the LCD text is not easily visible.
Do these allow you to set a timer that automatically shuts off 1 hour after turning it on? I'm able to do this with one of my Smart app connected power plugs
