Cheapest Prepaid Mobile Option for 2 Months

Friend from overseas got a woolworths lebara 30 day expiry prepaid mobile starter sim from another friend and of course now it expires tomorrow so he is asking me what is the best prepaid mobile sim for the next 2 months he is here in Australia.

Don't need data just national calling and sms for when he is out of the house as I have him setup on home wifi for whatsapp calling/sms/etc.

So is there any dirt cheap prepaid mobile plans I can put him on for the remaining 2 months he is here.

I guess 3 month expiry prepaid mobile plans work.

Definitely no post paid plans as worst case scenario will happen so I need to bill shock myself future proof wise with a limited time prepaid mobile sim.

    The issue here is since it expires tomorrow, it will be difficult to buy any sim card that requires delivery. e.g. catch connect has a 90 days sim card

    maybe felix for $20 a month? they have esim and no lock in contract

      I am assuming that because it expires tomorrow that he will lose his number also immediately or is there a grace number where you can have an expired service and have the number attached it for a certain amount of days?

        There is a grace period.

        Looks like disconnected numbers will be quarantine for 6 months1

        They should still be able to receive SMS during the 80 day period (see below) to port out. But will not be able to make any calls or send SMS.

        1. Your number will be disconnected and put into quarantine if you: Have a prepaid service and you don’t recharge for 80 days since the last time you recharged ↩

          Hmm ok cool so I should be able to use their current number again for the new mobile provider aka port out for 80 days?

    Kogan Mobile 120GB a month for $15 for the first 3 recharges deal going now..

    Vodafone network (which in my experience has been great (in SA for the past >6 years).

    Amaysim's $35 SIM pack is on sale for $12 at Woolworths (sale probably ends tomorrow). This allows you to activate on the $30 for 90 days plan with 4GB data.

    In case you don't see the 90 days option when activating, you can choose Pay As You Go plan, then change to the 90 days plan through account settings.
