90% of Nolan movies are time travel movies

@nurbsenvi: You obviously have only watched a few of them….

    • +24

Just say you didn't get the movie

        • +3

Ironically, sounds more like your comments 😂

    • -5

The movie is good but the robot design is pretty shit. I remember I almost screamed "it can not run like this!" when it ran.

      • +1

I think the robot was a real model.

    • -3

I also hated this film. Nolan at his worst.

    • Masterpiece? Are you kidding me?

Imagine for a moment that different people have different opinions…

How many seconds have passed on that tsunami planet in 10 earth years?

    • +5

1 hour on Miler's planet = 7 Earth years. Roughly 85~ minutes is 10 years in seconds 5143 seconds since Interstellar came out. Not even the length of the movie if you were watching it there!

      • +4

Damn, imagine living on that planet and your quantum news feed from Earth spoils the movie for you 0.001 seconds into it.

  • Ohh how about Melbourne?

    • Sold out in Melbourne.

  • Is this the movie where they try to communicate with ink emitting aliens?

    • +8

      No. You're confusing Interstellar(m.imdb.com) with Arrival(m.imdb.com).

      • +5

        Another fantastic movie!

        • Gotta say I didn't get that one very much. Amy Adams was very good though

      • +2

both have a big component of time though!

    This masterpiece

    LOL ;)

  • Does anyone know about the Gold coast IMAX because they keep saying it's a Limax and not a real one as it was converted from a regular cinema?

Different aspect ratio or something and not using the correct IMAX projector and sound?

    Cheers

    • The Pacific Fair "IMax" is a converted VMax thas been "upgraded" to a Imax-Lite format (similar to Liemax in suburban USA cinemas) Canberra also has a Liemax/Imax-Lite (operated by Dendy)

      • Thanks so they are charging us $40 and were going to get a cropped version of the imax version?

    • I've watched Interstellar (a month ago) and The Dark Knight (yesterday) at the GC IMAX and whilst yes, I wouldn't say its a true IMAX experience, I would say it is probably the best type of movie experience available on the GC at the moment. The Dark Knight audio was something else chefs kiss. I also agree that at $40 dollars for a ticket is a bit of stretch for this experience but w/ half price Tuesday or using 200 rewards points to reduce the price to ~$19 its a worthy upgrade than the usual setting. I was also surprised to see trailers for upcoming movies screened in the "IMAX" format as well (if filmed with IMAX screenings in mind).

Side Note: my first IMAX experience was Oppenheimer in Melbourne (INSERT William Dafoe looking up meme as it was a last minute trip) and I am going to Sydney very soon to see Interstellar (again) so I'm feeling like Thanos atm, collecting the infinity stones across the country.

I’m a lamer and missed Oppenheimer. Have been looking around if it’s playing in any cinemas but nope. Will keep my eye out I suppose.

I loved Interstellar. Did see it in the cinema (not IMAX).

So i get that its still a cinema, and a big fancy one at that, but I struggle with the idea of paying full price (up to $40pp) to go see a 10yr old movie i've already seen about 5x already.

Yes I know the Tuesday session is 50% off

    • +1

Yeah can we not use the discount ~$12 vouchers and pay the IMAX upgrade cost? I find it hard enough paying the discounted price let alone $40 haha

      • Yes I find it hard to justify that price. I know it's Nolan and I absolutely love the movie.

    • +3

if you are a film geek, you are paying for an experience (not just a movie). haven't been to the renovated IMAX in Sydney but regularly go to the one in Melbourne. The sound is unparalleled and the immersiveness of the giant screen never gets old even as I've been there 20 plus times.

    • +1

They have an imax in Bali now and it’s like $5 a ticket. Worth it at the price.

  • My ears are still bleeding from the first time I saw this movie. That audio mix was insane and some cinemas seemed to have a hard time with it.

  • All terrible seats in Sydney left which would leave you with bad sight lines and a sore neck.

  • This is no time for caution.
