I don't know what the active ingredient is, but I got some of that minoxidil stuff and it gave me heart pain. I got checked out in the hospital completely but they couldn't find anything. There are more stories like that on the internet too.
While I don't know whether it has actually done any heart damage, I wish I'd never tried it, much better not having a single hair on your head then having the most luscious hair six foot under.

I've been using minoxidil for many years. At the beginning it did cause some thick individual hairs to sprout forth, but now it's done nothing to retard hair loss in the long term.
I'm now of the firm view that we should forget lasers, creams, lotions and potions. Just shave off what's left and enjoy the savings (medicine, shampoo, etc, this is OzBargain after all :-)
bald men are yummy. i prefer bald over a full head of hair so if your balding then i agree - just shave it off :)

To me, that just screams out bullsh*t! That just wouldn't happen.

Ok, after seeing sting1's comment I actually read what the hell this stuff is. It does not appear to be a hair loss treatment cream (that the OP claims in the title). Now that I see that it is more of an instant cover-up or camouflage, it makes sense that they are dressed the same.
Now that I've taken the time to understand what this product does, perhaps now it is the OP's turn to do the same.

They do not regrow your hair. Nor do they claim too.
It is simply a way to cover up balding areas.
