ELEGOO Neptune 4 Max FDM 3D Printer $559.99 Delivered @ ELEGOO Official-Store eBay

70
MCBT20

So the Ebay code brings this down to $560 which is great (and I wasn't sure how to post this coz it might not work for everyone) but they have a sale at their web site where it's $569.99, so I used the make an offer tab on the listing and tried for $569.99 quoting "same as website please" and overnight they accepted. I then applied the MCBT20 code to bring it down to $455.99.
Hurry though as the code expires on the 16th so probably only tonight to try for those offers.

Nice deal if you can get it for $455.99

Great deal if you can get it for $355.99

  • This vs the Flashforge Adventurer 5m that was posted recently?

    • The only reason to buy this over the 5M is the build volume (while the 5M is $327 anyway)

The 5M is only 220x220mm but probably less tinkering/setup required out of the box (and coreXY vs bed slinger)

Good work on getting the price match.

I tried in October but was told no because they have to recover the cost of the voucher.

Then in November I was able to apply it the day it became active, before they jacked the price.

Great printer once dialed in. I highly recommend Bed Leveler 5000 to get a perfectly flat bed level + Silicone spacers.

    • TY, will take a look.
I've had the plus version for a few days now and it's been great.
Initially I thought "cool, I can print big things." but it's been more about fitting all the parts on the one build plate and letting them all print in the one print overnight, huge time saver.
Setup was easy, I then went through the manual and auto levelling then tried a print and it was fine. Most seemed to have been dialed in at the factory.

Another option is to just use the screws_tilt_calculate function built in to Klipper.

Add the screw positions to your printer.cfg, restart and you'll have a new button in fluidd or just type it into the fluidd console.

It will probe then tell you exactly how much you need to turn each screw.

      • Wow! I'll look into that, thanks.

Try these screw positions for the Plus. Better aligned than ones I found online (remember its the centre of the probe, not the nozzle). Centre mount is the reference point. Prob need a couple of runs, depends how pedantic you want to be but within a couple of minutes is usually good enough. There's a model you can print that helps make the turns more precise, less guessing.

How do these compare with a Bambu A1?

The Bambu is $499 at the moment: https://au.store.bambulab.com/products/a1

    • 256 by 256 by 256 mm³ Build Volume
      vs
420 by 420 by 480mm on this unit. This is mainly for build volume buyers.
It is a good printer in it's own right but it's mostly build volume that makes it stand out.

Wow that's huge! Thanks for pointing out the main difference that I missed.

        • Balance of a build plate so big can be an issue for some. If you have issues in the far corners, you leave the plate to warm up fully, 15 to 20min, then balance and print. I've only had my Plus for a few days and prints seem great but I haven't done bed level prints and so forth yet. Very happy with it thus far so I bought the Max.
Bambu are one of the best and easy to use I think but if you need size this is great.

@Jighuv: The rabbit hole that is 3D printing :D

I got a Plus first, then started thinking of things I want to print bigger than 320mm and have ended up with a Max too…
