I just went to book through Promotix and discovered the show I wanted tix for was VIP member only.
Fear not, for a code from 2 years ago on ozbargain still works 😂.

    I used this VIP membership very well when it was free. I saw many unknown acts and people, some of whom I have since fallen in love with and frequently attend their shows.

    I highly recommend you take advantage and see some lesser-known performances.

      Promotix is awesome. Taking chances on unknown acts has paid off much more than it's bombed, great to see new talent I'd otherwise be oblivious to.

      Saw Rueben Kaye the first time via Promotix. Magnificent show and I’ve gone to a couple of his shows since then. There is a great YouTube posting where he did a radio interview. Really NSFW but absolutely hilarious.

      Gives you free ticket to events. I used it once and got tickets to an advanced screening of Resident Evil. But most events are comedy shows.

        Not quite free. Usually you have to pay a booking fee (up to $9) for the tickets.

    99% of the shows that you can get free in NSW are stand up comedies. For those who are not interested in that stuff, this membership is almost useless.

      It's common to have comedy shows, but its certainly not the only ones that pop up (but those are consistant).

      https://nolovesongs.com.au/ has been on there a bit recently, one I would definitely go to if I was in Sydney.

        Yeah there was a couple then, very rarely at the main places though (usually Johny Fox's or whatever it's called). Few and far between outside Fringe.

        Not completely knocking the site, I check it often and have had good tickets through the years, just the last year or 2 seems a bit lax towards WA

      Yes it's of limited use in WA except during fringe and possibly WA comedy festival.

      Promotix emails sht me. "Click to reveal Perth shows" isn't great when there's not even anything on. I've stopped clicking.

      They should know which state you're in and send a summary email specific to your state, no URL clicking required

      It sounds like I'm beating them up and yes they could improve but realistically it's pretty good given its free

    Complimentary tickets are a privilege and allocations are limited, so if you are not able to attend a show please ensure you advise us asap, as an empty seat is a missed opportunity for another member
    and the artist.

    got perhaps two of the best seats in the house for a Steve Martin / Martin Short show through this.
    had to ask where our seats were, because i'd gone the wrong way, up to the 'cheap' ones
    right in front, and any closer to the stage we would have been looking up, we were more comfortable where we were…

    and agree witt those who have said it is a good way to see something you otherwise wouldn't….

    There are a few "expired" codes on here for different companies. Posting them again is a sure fire way to make sure they are really expired in the backend.
