  • Thanks, ordered.

  • Perfect, legitimately just ran out as I was descaling my dual boiler 10 mins ago :)

    Thanks op.

  • is this any good for the lo'r pod machines?

  • Gone now, showing as $31.90 from another seller for me.

Says 1 bottle = 1 dose, which means youre paying around $6 per clean/de scale. Does that seem expensive to anyone?

Comparing it to 1L of breville descaler is $34 and that's 10 doses

    • Wow you're right, this is crazy overpriced

      • And the reason for your neg is?

        • +3

          It is crazy overpriced.

I typically pay $3-4 per descale, this 'deal' is more than $6. They are tiny single use bottles. Buy the bulk bottle.

The Sunbeam descaler is much cheaper at $5/250ml. Given you only use a capful it should easily do 5-10 doses.

    Just buy citric acid powder.
I also use it to clean my dishwasher monthly.

    • Seems like a waste of time

    • And can use denture tablets for cleaning.

    • Yeah. You can use those small containers for ages! Only noobs will pay this much for citric acid.

    • I just picked up some yesterday for $9/kg

You know it's made industrially from black mold?

I use $4 Coles (2 doses)branded descaler, works just fine

If you enjoy coffee, you should not be using town water.

    • Which cafes don't use town water?

      • Fancy coffee shops have expensive filters that "alter" the water to give it a specific profile. At home, only oligophrenics would do that.

        • +4

          So filtered town water

      • Maybe the cafes in the mountains. Mt Glorious Brisbane have better tasting coffee than the suburbs.

And go Q-tanks for rainwater collection. Superior tea and coffee than anything before using scale/rust town water.

  • Coles brand works well on my delonghi

    • Delonghi descaler doesn't use the typical citric acid base in their descaler and it's quite a bit more expensive

      • what does it use?

  • I boil the kettle with a half a cut lemon or baking powder.

    • +1

A kettle is a different kettle of fish

  • Always a breville coffee machine user but no thanks to their overpriced water filter inserts, cleansing tablets and descaling solution. There are alternatives that just work as fine.
