why wouldn't you want a superslim?
The super slim seems cheeply made to me. I hate the DVD/BLU RAY tray input instead of the slot load from the slim. Plus the super slim was 12GB internal with no external HDD. This slim is 160GB. Lastly I paid 228 for the super slim this one is 168.
Oh, I had no idea, I just had a couple of videos explaining the new tray input, I kinda like it, it reminds me of the Psone consoles

Unless it is for a present, you should be able to grab a second hand one with a bunch of games and 2 controllers for under $240. Just make sure it's fairly new with a receipt :) That's what I did.

$168 is a great price, especially considering this is the Slim version and not the newer super slim. I paid $248 for it from Big W in June this year and it was well worth it to get this model with the extra space. People paying way more for the 12GB Super Slim are getting ripped off.

The person who went down for me was first in, sold out (staff must have grabbed them) was told they had all 5 there yesterday but somehow the website went from Instock -> Low Stock -> Out of Stock while they were closed :@. Kogan don't price match, Big W were amazed, but wouldn't price match.

Glossy very cheap looking cover. Terrible top loading drive, still slow at loading blurays and the most unbelievable of all - no wireless N still.

As a matter of fact, the newer super slim, supports newer hdmi connections then the older two models, giving it a better picture.
So although the outside might be a bit more cheap, its in fact a superior product.

I agree with you on this. The top load is awful. I use the PS3 to play blurays and the slot load is much better than what the super slim has. The new one looks really cheap compared to the slim I think.
I am in Melbounre easter suburbs but ALL the stores around me are out of stock, however i do not see the option to click and collect with ANY store.
The only option was click & collect, but they've now all been ordered which is why you can't see them anymore.

Forever, it was clearance I'm pretty sure.
It won't be re-stocked, it's been replaced hence why we are clearing it out.
All these current deals are due to a clearance on older stock to make way for new stuff for the new year.
I personally hope a majority of you do get a decent deal, and hope it's not a repeat of last year.

If Order Status = "Your order is being processed." and/or Status = "In Progress" you'll be wasting your time. You need to wait for confirmation of the processing. As per the original email you get - "We will send you a text to confirm when your order is ready for collection."
It all depends on where you're standing in the Click and Collect line, and if the shop was closed today, you'd have to wait until tomorrow morning so Staff can get around to dealing with the C&C orders, and if you're lucky you were one of the first to order one.
Click and Collect is a waste of time with Dick Smith. Ive never had a successful pickup. Every time I either get there and there suddenly is no stock or they ring me and say there is no stock. Of course in the mean time its out everywhere else.

So, even if you successfully reserved one via Click and Collect, it doesn't mean one has actually been put aside for you.. ie it's still going to rely on luck whether you do in fact get one?? If that's the case, it seems like a rather pointless system.I've done click and collect 3 times and 2 out of 3 times they put aside the wrong item, either because the system is screwed up or incompetent employees.
well just underneath it clearly says it's a $168 PS3
i dunno how they can screw that up unless they didnt have much stock at the start anyway

Once you do the Click and Collect online, it will go to that stores computers, it's just a matter of staff picking the items, and confirming that they are on hold for you.
Usually if there's something wrong with the order you'd get a call from the store to let you know.
So means if i did a clickand collect then do i need to Q up in the morning infront of the store?
So do they collect the stock first thing in the morning before the store opens? Or is there a change people lining up first thing in the morning may reach the stock before the staff pull it off the shelves?
better than clicking and collecting a couple of items and finding out they havent been bothering to do it and just giving the stock on a first come basis. Personally, I wont set foot in bourke st dick smith in melbourne unless tempted with a sweet deal
As a bonus it's the 2nd generation ps3 and not the cheap looking 3rd generation with 24gb drive and noisier laser.
And low on stock as usual, its either out of stock or nothing when you call the store.
Sick of dealing with DSE with their deals, they always have either no stock or staff picking up the goods before everyone else
Many places will have had ps3s reserved as the deal was posted over 3.5 hours ago. Can't speak for every area obviously but soon after it was posted there were 4 stores near me showing as in stock.
Yayyy!!! Finally got one from DS Top Ryde..Called store at 5.45pm..he said that they have only one last stock and it's a display stock ..for this price I thought it wouldn't matter as it will come with full warranty anyway ..so rushed to store..the store was going to close in next 10 mins..so had to rush really quick :)..Finally he took out the box and it turned out to be a fresh brand new stock ..the box was never opened ..Yipee..immediately paid with the DS gift card that I purchased recently from Ebay on 10% off ..so final price 168 -10% = $151.2
Was busy playing it with upgrading firmware, configuring etc ..so got little delayed in replying here..

I guess if it's a display there is a good chance that it's been played with as well.. Just check the seal if it has ever been broken ..that should give you an idea if its used before or not..Good Luck
