Cheaper than a single 5090 @ scorptec and you get a free built :) https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/graphics-cards/nvidia/11…
Seems like a good deal if you need a 5090 pre built
seems to be decent enough compared with pcpart picker https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/TjPy8Q

    • That's a good trick. As they can put order through the backend.

    • Did you end up getting it yet? Did it come with a founders edition card?

  • +1

    mine has been shipped, exciting!

  • Managed to backorder one through support chat. Asked edu email to get OP price.

  • What!

This or 3x iPhone 16 Pro??

  • one of those moments where i wish i was 'wealthy' enough to drop this kind of money on what is a great deal but i still sadly cannot afford it…

    • +1

this is cheap bruh. i am going to buy 3 of these. wait its 7000?…

The TechFast $4999 one should be better valued? But still I think it's hella expensive..

      • techfast seems to be a mish-mash of hardware slapped together according to reviews online

  • Looks like someone already start selling the 5090 on Facebook market place for $6900

    • Can you link it? Interested to see how they go.

Thought about doing something similar (it's back in stock), but selling a high end graphics card used (albeit removed from a brand new system) and without warranty will be challenging I would imagine.

Plan was to swap in a 3060 from an existing system, but more I think about it the more it sounds like a waste of time and unnecessary anxiety.

To upgrade the existing system I only need CPU (probably Ultra 7 instead of 9), MB (some Z890 mATX board), and DDR5 RAM. Under $1,500 without any stress.

  • Very good price per fake frame!!

  • +3
  • I have 10% discount code which takes it to $6389 but for me the CPU is the deal breaker

    • 10% code for full priced item, tried it too, didn’t work

      • Mine is eligible for full priced and promotional items. I'm not sure if it's only for new users.

        • Are you able to get the $6389 price? :o

            • @Meteor Anarcom: Damn that’s nice! Both mail and cart retention codes for me are full priced only items.

              • +1

@Magicmannn: I won't buy even at that price, lol. Only 1 year warranty for 50 Series cards is too risky, especially a 5090. Also, I don't think it deserves the price

                • @Meteor Anarcom: That’s fair, it’s an expensive system so you want some reassurance.

                • +2

@Meteor Anarcom: By Australia Consumer Law they'd have to provide at least 3 or 4 years. Maybe more for the 5090. (Look it up, its based on price. And this overrides manufacturer warranty)

Where did you get this code if I can ask?

  • Mine order is on delivery, should arrive in 3 days or less.

  • Pretty happy with that $2650 techfast 4080S build I got two months ago. These prices are absurd.

  • Asking for a friend, can you claim the depreciation on this for tax?

Dont want to turn out like this guy

    • +1

yes. if used for work related to income.

      • Double checked with an accountant - it has to be 'reasonable and justifiable' relating to your work if it requires those specifications i.e. can't buy a 'Rolls Royce' when other tradies use a 'toyota ute'. Lucky didn't pull the trigger.

        • Fair enough but 7000$ may be reasonable for someone whose makes 400k and works in IT and needs it for running vm/servers

          • @ffagz: Yep if you're in IT, a technical field or professional gamer that requires those specs for your work, can easily justify

    Wow, just received!
Ordered yesterday at 7:30pm and received at 11:20am today!

    • Say anywhere on the gpu who the card manufacturer is? They used pallit for their 4090s

      • Nah, it says HP.
But the card is freaking huge! Bigger than the RTX 5090 FE, 3 fans.
I will say its GIGABYTE, but i could be wrong

        • Any chance we could get a photo?

  • This deal is insane, I thought we'd be seeing this deal on Black Friday.

All that said, the idea of paying $7k remains offensive for obvious reasons.

  • Mine's shipped. Deal is gone - this spec is no longer listed on the edu store. There's only a lower spec version for $7,499 (also out of stock).

    • Hello.

Did yours come with a founders edition card?

      • No - HP use companies like PNY to manufacture their cards, so it's just a 3rd party brand.

        • Strange. My last omen was a FE.

          • @mthucs: That's interesting! What model/year? I read the 4090 Omen 45L was using a PNY card. I just commented below - it seems really solid and is testing right where an FE would.

            • @gravelcrowman: It was a few years back. 2080ti. My partner got hers as a 3080ti. Both FE.

      • looks pretty solid build GPU , 3 slots 3 fans. I read somewhere this is same batch as founder edition

        • From what I can tell it's really well built - power connector feels solid and 3D Mark results are right where a base clock card would sit. Overall really happy with this PC.

  • Insanity. This is for "influencers" right?

  • Does it come with a complimentary fire extinguisher

  • It's funny how now we're all thinking that this machine is amazingly performant and efficient. But in a few years we'll look back and grin.

Think back to when a Geforce 980TI was considered amazing high tech. And these days every mid-range laptop has more computing power. Heck, my phone has more compute than that!

Keep in mind kids, what is shiny today, will be dull tomorrow.

    • 980Ti still performs better than the laptop RTX3050 which is the most common card on the midrange laptops.

      • True, but go 3060m or 4050m ("m" being a specced down laptop version) and you are already ahead.
