  • These are so expensive for what they are.

While i'd love them to be cheaper, there really isn't any decent competition in this specific space (battery + airplay)

      • With my 5.1 arc set up i've noticed the music quality drops noticeably with airplay compared to in app. Idk if this is airplay issue or sonos issue

    • idk. The BOSE equivalent is basically the same price, but there isn't much other competition.

A UE Epicboom/Hyperboom/Turbonitroboom are $500 and bluetooth only. There is a JBL equivalent that looks like it could shoot down a jetliner that's a bit better but hilariously inconvenient.

The Move 2 is probably a hundred bucks more than I'd like to pay (and the RRP is ridiclous), but it's not unreasonable. Esp if you have Sonos store credit/discount like most people in the ecosystem.

      • I'm not sold on either sonos or bose when it comes to sound quality. My 7 year old sony xb90 sounds about the same as my arc and it was half the price and is portable

        • this is the unavoidable truth with soundbars - their slim form factor means your drivers can only be so big. you can't beat physics so sound bars are always going to sound a bit shit.

sonos Era and Move speakers do sound better but again, they're just portable speakers, not magic.

        which JBL model is that?

I could only find the JBL Link, which seems to look very similar to all the options mentioned. I was expecting something that looked like a truck with missiles on the back of it. 🤔

      • A new option is the JBL Originals 300 which looks good (haven't heard it), battery + AirPlay

It's exactly the same price point as the Bose and the Sonos…

  • i bought move 1 only 200 on the marketplace. still happy with Move 1 =))))

  • Love my Move 1. Its not super portable(not a take to beach size) but easy to take away on holidays and set up. Having BT and wifi is excellent. Sound quality is great, nice bass compared to the sonos one.

      That’s the discontinued Move 1.

  • this or era 300 if not planning to move it anywhere?

    • +1

Absolutely era 300 if you don’t want portability.
