don't really need it, but price is right will probably come in handy at some point

    • If it can put a boost sim, that would be perfect, transforming an old pc to LTE pc or free data on the go

Would this kind of thing work well with a Dell Dock? e.g. the laptop connects to the dongle's WiFi when you're docked? I suppose you'd lose your connection the second you un-dock so probably not ideal compared to using the native WiFi on the laptop.

    • Normally ok. The laptop will connect to dock, then will pick up whatever that is connected.

Tried buying it but says it can’t ship to an Australian address. Anyone else have better luck?

Edit: "no longer available from the seller"

Edit 2: price is now $59

  • I don't need it… I don't need it…

Available at Bunnings (special order only) at $32.90 for anyone still interested in this.

Very good price for this model, although likely to be superseded with a Wifi7 high gain model soon (if the TP-Link site is to be believed)

If you add any item, brings this modem down to $29. Great price for under $30!

  • IS this faster than Netgear nighthawk axe3000?

    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/netgear-ni…

    • AXE5400 vs AXE3000 I think yes? Haven't checked myself. But obviously much better price.

  • Is the USB3 port fast enough to even match the theoretical speed of the WiFi?

    • If the 2.4, 5 and 6GHz frequencies are all being maxed out simultaneously then it would reach about 5.3GB/s. A little bit more than the USB3 bandwidth of 5GB/s.

  • My google nest wifi is hard to get 700 speed over some meters and I doubt if this little dongle can. Unless your sever sits beside you or you don't care much about the speed. Most of the time don't need high speed for everyday tasks.

  • Can this be used as a wireless access point connecting to a wired router?
