Insect Infestation- How to Get Rid of This?

Hi all, from last week these small insects are getting all over our in formal living room and kitchen ceiling.

Kitchen and lounge are open space. I have tried looking for the source by going through each item in the cupboards but can’t find them. We called a pest control service but nothing. They are back today after he massively sprayed chemicals all over backyard and indoors. I’ve been using Mortein and finished my 4th bottle. These insects don’t move stays like a zombie. They only move when we are gone or lights are off. I poked them with a broom and that’s when they started moving.

1) Firstly what are these? I live in Sydney South.
2) How do I get rid of them?

Pictures: Here and here

FYI - We do not have a single plant inside our house.

  • It would help if you could give a size, and better photos.

Grok says Psocids (Booklice), but I don't think so.

  • They are very tiny like a 5mm in length . I used my best to take more pictures but at a macro picture that’s the best I can do on my iPhone 16 Pro.

Gees, if images like that that are useless because they're out of focus is the best the camera on even the latest model iphone can do, well, we've learned something today about how technically superior that company's products aren't.

        OP just can’t take photos.

      • You give an amateur a race car, doesn't mean they'll be able to drive it. Give my mum a camera and doesn't mean she still won't put her finger over the lens.

All I know is that whoever put that light fitting in had grubby hands. Crikey!

  • if they are attracted to light, get some of those bug / moth baits that have the sticky surface, put a cheap bright led in them, leave on over night

  • Do you have fruit left out?

  • Cerebral parasite sawflies?

stop being dirty and grubby.. clean the house

  • Did the pest service check your ceiling? The bugs might be in there, then entering via a light fitting, or small hole.

  • In a bowl put a cup of apple cider vinegar, a cup of water and a good squirt of dishwashing liquid. Mix and leave on bench for 48 hours. If bowl fills with insects rinse and repeat until they are gone from house.

I’ve tried this and it worked really well, although it didn’t really taste that good so I added some Nutri grain

They're klendathu arachnids and are fairly common this time of year. I've used a company called Johnny Rico Pest Control to get rid of them in the past.

  • Dehumidifier

you've discovered some of the latest minature chinese spy camera devices. i've got a few in my room and i wave to them every morning

  • I did some work on my macro photography skills and look another picture. This is in reference to a toothpick. It seems two insects joined together.

I’m really trying hard to find out what this is and get rid of them. I would really appreciate some help.
Yes, our house is clean and there’s no fruits left open.
