Audio Technica AT-LP60X Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable $164 (via Price Beat) + Delivery ($0 Uber/ C&C) @ The Good Guys

220

My son asked me to find him a turntable as he is starting a vinyl collection. Found this at good guys commercial for 169 which seemed like a decent price, then realised it was 5 bucks cheaper on their normal site. Make sure you click the price beat button.

Great write up from MasterScythe here

Great starter turntable. There's another model with bluetooth if you don't have the amp/speakers or powered speakers already.

Miles better than anything that comes in a suitcase.

    Can confirm, still going strong.
Only 'issue' I've found is that because it's so light, it's VERY susceptible to tone arm poisoning (external vibrations geting amplifed).
Bumping the table didnt cause this, like i'd originally said, but a barfridge housed in the same unit did.

Adding some little bits of dynamat to the underside, and placing it on a cheap silicone mat solved 99% of that :)
    I'd buy it again.

  • this is a really good price

  • Got this one for my Daughter for Christmas - around the same price a Jb Hifi back than. Couldn't be happier.

Only "downside" is that she triggered me and I ended up spending $1,800 on a Technics SL-1500C for myself couple weeks later…. Also, could not be any happier with that one.

    • I've been eyeing off the 1500C - how do you like it?

      • Extremely happy with it so far. But mind you I am no expert. I first had a bit of a look into when I bought the unit for my daughter and a bit more serious when I bought mine.
But the longer you look the more you read or watch the more insecure you get as there are so many different opinions out there.
Initially I was set on a Planar. But Happy I did what I did.

I have paired it with a pair of Edifier S2000MKIII from Centre com using the internal Phono.
