Recently needed a compact turntable and this little beauty fit the bill.
It feels plasticky but the sound is actually extremely impressive. Single piece alloy platter, and dual magnet head cart, the thing I was most blown away by for an entry level table is the stereo separation.
I've watched proably 30+ reviews, and read every article on the first 3 pages of google, which shows It's an improvement all around from the older LP60;
Relying on reviews; it no longer skips on bass heavy songs, its tracking force is better regulated at 3.5g, and while its on the heavier side on a 50x play microscope examination no wear could be seen on a vinyl groove. It's still less than 1/3rd the vinyl spec actually allows needle weight to be. It doesn't skate, and bumping the table didnt noticably poison the audio. Most of this I've been able to confirm first hand, now I own it.
I was impressed there was no hum whatsoever, yet the built in pre-amp does NOT rely on auto muting to achieve this.
All in all, my father wanted to experience his records again. The clarity this thing has managed to pull out of 50+yo damaged vinyl that has been stored in heavy 100+ high stacks, was mindblowing.
With the exception of the perceived build quality (which seems to have no impact in reality), for a 'plug in and play' style table, I can't fault it.
This good? Need to buy one as a gift for my dad, have 0 idea about these things..
