No mention of "$200 Electricity Bill Credit with Swap to Energy Australia through Cashrewards" anywhere on CRs website. Where did you see it? And are you confident it stacks with the $240?

Edit: Found it on CR as a $200 offer through Compare Energy, so not sure if these 2 offers stack: https://www.cashrewards.com.au/store/compare-energy

    • The bill credit is an offer on the Energy Australia website, not sure if it'll stack with the CR offer though.

  • How long do we need to stay connected

    • Energy Compare seems to state 75 days as being required.

  • couldnt find any where mentioned the $200 Electricity Bill Credit

For those who jumped on the Engie Black Friday deal, has anyone got any bills so far? I tried to log into their customer portal last month, but there wasn’t any bills. Probably need to email them.

    • Yep, all came through normally for me - as a deficit to them. -200$ when I cancelled.

    • Yes, I had the same issue. I didn't get any emails for my energy bill. I had to chase it up since it was about time to churn.

I actually swapped to this provider because of the $200 bonus a few days ago (without the cashback :/// )

      • It's pretty odd. I just sent them an enquiry, the form doesn't allow apostrophe lol That explains the billing problem.

        • I used the app on iOS and I could send an enquiry in pretty easily. I asked them to send the pdf with the BPay code on it and it came through on the same day via email. I'm not sure if I used an apostrophe though!

          • @Radiskull: That's pretty good. They replied said I won't be getting anything until March since it's a quarterly bill. Maybe I should just tell them I'm churning.

Correction - this is written at the top of the EA plan thats offered on mine:

"New Customers Only- Guaranteed 12% discount off electricity usage and supply charges for 12 months benefit period plus $200 welcome credit on 1st Electricity Bill. "

So even though they're offering the 'Balance' plan and not the 'Flexi' one it still does seem to give the $200 credit from EA plus the Econnex fee wvia CR.

So seems correct as OP states - I have corrected my statement to show thisd. :-)

    • You won't get both offers. I just got off nearly 1h chat with them. I took Black Fri offer plus Econnex cashback offer. As Econnex offered. the Balance plan while welcome credit is only avail for Flexi plan. They won't give me 500 credit but only 30 LOL. I need to wait until Apr to see if cashback is approved.

$200 Electricity Bill Credit - might only applies to NSW but no luck in QLD

  • I jumped on an EA deal for Black Friday via Cashrewards. $200 elec / $300 gas + $270 cashback. It says it won’t be approved until June though, which I’m hoping isn’t the case as it’ll erode any profit gain (EA is expensive AF). Anyone managed to get the cashback sooner?

    • No, can't think of a way to change the approval date. Personally, thankful that it is accepted come June. Would suck to have it rejected in June.

    • I received my first bill and they won't give me welcome credit as the one offered in Econnex is Balance plan

I put in to switch from EA and they seem to not be letting me switch my gas to Engie. Now I have to intervene into what should have been a routine switch that I started in mid-Jan. Apparently, EA decided that a meter reading wasn't necessary a week or so ago, so it keeps me with them another two months. Dodgy company.

    • not be letting me switch my gas to Engie

Push Engie to organise a special meter read. Just keep in mind that special meter reads cost the retailer (charged by the distributor). This is why they wait until the next regular read.

I don't think it is EA that is holding up your transfer. This could happen with other retailers when you transfer your gas connection.

It is not the responsibility of the losing retailer to organise a special meter read unless you are moving out.

      • OK. I had expected a meter reading at the end of the billing period. I'll contact Engie, who does seem prone to errors. My first electricity bill didn't include the $200 credit in my signup conditions, but I contacted them and they apologised and put it in.

Cashback is ineligible on the following:

Switching plans for the same premises.
    Returning EA customers for the same premises;

So not eligible for cashback if I was a customer back in 2022 ?

  • I did this on Monday and hasn't tracked yet

  • 270 on raiz (150 electricity,120 gas)

  • If i was with Energy Australia 2 years ago, churned away for 2 years, am I still qualified as "new account" if my address is still the same?

Put it under a different family members name to be safe

  • Try it and let us know.

  • Did it track for anyone?
    Still nothing

  • Joined 28-Feb, tracked on 3-Mar. don't know when would it be approved.
would you guys please update here?

  • Mine tracked this morning as well. Joined 26/02/25

  • I signed up last 29 Nov and the electricity cashback just got approved 6 March. I switched to powershop a week ago.

    • Can you confirm if you switched before Cashback approved? Or did you switch after?

      • I switched before cashback was approved. The estimated approval date was in May and I didn't want to wait that long.
