Trust me, you are the minority.
There's nothing good about proprietary standards so get your head out of sand.
If nobody cares I wonder why Apple finally gave in and switched to USB-C after milking it out of customers like you when they ditched the old 30-pin dock connector for lightning cable, rendering every accessory/cable out in the world obsolete.

        • They only did it because EU made it mandatory to have usbc and not practical to have one version for EU and another for rest of world. They didn’t do it because they gave in to customer preference

          • @illusion99: Yes, correct but EU regulation was brought in with a number of objectives, including enhancing consumer convenience. It would be a nightmare if every electronics manufacturer had their own proprietary cable. Apple was just in the position to abuse their market dominance until the regulation put them in their place.

Yet here we are with some people blindly still saying lightning cable is not even an issue.

            • @dji1111111: when lightning came in with the iphone 5 micro usb was the android standard, yeh?

y reckon they should've gone wi micro usb?

Appreciate the deal OP, however I want to share my 2c:

As an iPhone 13 user for two years, I really am not a fan of the camera at all. Photos aren't as crisp as I'd like from an iPhone (and prefer older models tbh) so I use Halide to shot RAW. Videos are decent, however the light refraction artifacts are off-putting. You can see streaks of light bounce off the lens and quite evident during the day.

    • +1

Yep hate the lens flare/floating lights so much. And they’ve still not done anything about it. The fact that you can spend upwards of $2500 on an iPhone 16 which still exhibits these issues that render the camera unusable in some situations…. just absurd.

    • Photos aren't as crisp as I'd like from an iPhone (and prefer older models tb

This is a non-pro model, photos are not meant to be crisp. You're comparing older highest end flagship models to modern low end flagships instead of the highest end pro models. I'd expect an 11 Pro Max to take better photos than your 13. Just like a 13 Pro Max should be better than a base 15.

      • Ah yes - I missed the different models in the range. It’s all subjective for me, but I was happier with the photos and video I took with my XR vs 13. But also could be because of my XR screen as well.

  • Got Android flagship oppo few years ago and use my daughter iPhone 12 (probably 1 year newer than Oppo) now, just choose whatever you prefer. There aren’t much differences.

Any good deal on Iphone 15/16 256gb ?

Omg. My samsung a35 is $100. Spend wisely!

    • +1

Did you mean to say $400?

    • +1

How'd you get it so cheap, past deals show $300. I'm in Turkey atm and it's $600 here, we sure do have it good in Australia.

I had one of this before upgrading to my current 15 pro max, kept it as a spare, the contrast is very obvious…
If you're planning to buy one today, be warned it will be really laggy.

    • Not true at all. My mum has an iPhone 12 and it has a tiny bit of lag only sometimes. My brother has the 13 pro max and it’s probably a hair behind my 16 pro max. You might have a really degraded battery.

      • Yeh, I have a 12mini (I love the form factor) and compared to my SIL’s new 16 pro max it still doesn’t feel laggy

      • Battery health was normal in system settings.

      • i've just upgraded from an Xs and never suffered lag, using a 14 pro now which's barely much faster in terms of the interface

  • Because of iphone 16e release? Still too expensive. $499 is acceptable price.

3 generations behind (2021) no longer on Apple's website, unable to do Apple Intelligence and the difference with the 2025 16e model is only $999-$787 = $212 for a near obsolete device and in a couple of month's time it will be 4 generations behind.

    • $210 difference if you buy from JB Hifi.

    • +1

Apple intelligence doesn't even do anything useful at the moment so you are not missing much

  • +2

About the same price ($800) as the S25+ at JB Hifi.

  • +6

This is quite amusing. It's only another $210 to get the latest iPhone with 3.5 years newer technology, 8G ram vs 4G ram, and a better camera. The battery also won't have been sitting around in a warehouse for years degrading.

love how all the sheep justifying buying a 3yrs old phone at such a high price

  • Lol $800 for iPhone 13

  • i am using a refurb 256gb xs bought 1.5 years ago around $350 after discount from ebay… still works perfectly with latest IOS. I did replace the battery with oem brand which cost me around $50. so happy with it and no plan to replace it.

  • The iphone 16e is about to be released at a very similar price point.
Something to consider before this model.

  • i still use a 13, it's a solid phone.
But i've had it 3 years now and probably wouldn't spend that sort of money for something that's already used up half it's expected lifetime of os and security updates.

  • Refurbished iPhone 13 128gb good condition $484 with $85 off code for eBay plus.
