Matched Betting Full Time

Does anyone do matched betting as their full time job?

There is this one particular company I see all over Facebook claiming they all made $300,000 - $500,000 from it over a few years and of course they teach a course on how you can do it too.
They claim some of their students are making $300,000 a year from it.

I did matched betting back in my university days. It made me some pocket money but no way near what they are claiming to be making.

The thing with matched betting is that your accounts will eventually get banned.
They are saying there are over 100 bookies in Australia so if your accounts get banned there are plenty more you can sign up to.

Another aspect of match betting is that the bonus bets and promotions typically range from $50 to $100, and you only receive them if you haven’t placed a bet in some time or if you keep losing.

So how could they possibly be making $300,000 a year from $50-$100 bonus bets.
The whole thing screams scam as they also offer mentorship for $20,000.

Does anyone still do matched betting? If so how much are you making on average a year?

So how could they possibly be making $300,000 a year

I think you might have cracked the code here.

      I see all over Facebook

Here's OP's next clue. If this company had some secret which generates that much profit why would they sell it instead of making the bets themselves?

There is this one particular company I see all over Facebook claiming they all made $300,000 - $500,000.

After being promo banned from almost every corporate bookmaker in Australia after only winning a fraction of that, I can assure you it's 100% bulltish

Does it sound too good to be true? If so, you have your answer.

Well, they have been around for 5 years.
How can they continue to get away with misleading consumers?

      • +5

Think of it like education. They're charging you a fee to share their knowledge. Usually it's a scam like most things like this

        • -1

The money is made from the courses no doubt, but in their videos they openly tell everyone they made $300,000 from matched betting. I just don’t see how they can continue to get away with it without someone like the ACCC stepping in.

      • Oh sweet summer child.

      • It's like Youi insurance saying they save the average person $200 per year.

Its because if they don't save you money, you don't purchase the policy - survivorship bias.

If 1 person (the company owner) is making that much money, and 99% of others aren't - which story would you market?

I have paid for many varied courses in my life, and they have almost always been underwhelming. So you need to be realistic and accept puffery.

Sign up all your family and make sure you keep their accounts separate by using different internet connections and different cards / accounts to pay etc

Youtubers use THIS ONE WEIRD TRICK to earn HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars. Bookmakers HATE them!

Don't believe everything you see on Youtube, bro

  • +2

i think they're being overly conservative. quick, you had better sell your house and car and place a huge bet with them before too many people find out this well kept secret and all the bookies catch on

    I see all over Facebook

    Lol. FFS.

    Thinker

Don't overthink it. Just use common sense.

Money is in selling courses (bitcoin/alts, betting, stock market and here in Australia - real estate).
This looks too good to be true.

    • Of course it is. Why would you give away your secrets if you were making good money from it?
I want to report them to the ACC for misleading consumers. This thread was more about asking people that still do matched betting and if the landscape has changed?

I've been considering +EV betting, arbitraging bets between bookies
example in an email I received
    NCAAB Massachusetts vs Saint Louis
    +185 Bet365
    -179 PointsBet (Australia)
    for a 3.05% gain.

I've been hesitant to get into it as I do have questions about if bookies change the odds or cancel and refund one of the bets at the last minute, or boot you if you win too much.

you usually get limited/banned very fast hitting these

    mentorship for $20,000

I can offer you mentorship for just $10,000. I'll post it as a deal.

    • $10k save cents. Cheers

  • +4

I did it for about 2 years fairly consistently and ended up around 8k profit.

No chance in hell you can pull 300k without having to utilise 100's of accounts and id's.

Not getting your account banned/restricted is the hardest part

  • lol sounds like a scam

  • you know how all these scammers really make their money…….its the "courses" and "hacks" they teach rubes

why else would you teach someone your neat trick if it works

  • +4

claiming they all made $300,000 - $500,000 from it over a few years and of course they teach a course on how you can do it too.

If they were making this much, they wouldnt need to be selling a course… something about suckers and their money being easily parted. Reminds me of the guy who was on here claiming they had a "winning roulette strategy"…

    Edit: found it!

I do a fair bit of AFL betting each year. I've seen those ones too. Sure, they can make a slick website, bro type videos that they've cracked the code and have insane returns. I think it's all bs. The only one's I have time to look at it are the genuine statisticians who have models with good results over long term. The ones on socials have no solid evidence of mathematics behind them.

  • +8

I do, I make north of $500k generally, happy to teach you for $3k.

I realise it doesn't make sense that I would spend my time teaching you how to do this, when I could make way more money simply doing more matched betting, I'm just a really nice guy.

They claim some of their students are making $300,000 a year from it.

What if 50% of their students are losing $300,000 a year from it?

  • Odds on it's a scam.

  • You could definitely make at least 50k from matched betting before all of your various accounts get limited (likely <6mo). Generally it is not sustainable to do forever unless you have an endless amount of accounts in other peoples name, but you can definitely make risk free money on your own betting accounts using a matched betting strategy, until your account inevitably gets limited.

    • You do not need to pay anyone for a course though, plenty of free resources online to learn from.

  • Username does not check out.

  • I did match betting for a about a year consistently, a couple years back, and only managed to make about 20k. Don't think 300k is possible. Not sure the company you are referring to but I learnt it from one called BonusBank. Their memberships seem really expensive now though.

    • yes i can vouch for bonusbank too. I was with them for almost 4 years but yes no one there makes $300k a year from matched betting

    • I did bonusbank too, can vouch for them. I made about $1.5k in a few weeks before I lost interest.

Note that a large portion of that was welcome bonus bets, which you only get once.

    • TheSystem are claiming their students are making $30,000 a month lol
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRQv2cwxiMU
How can they get away with blatant lies?

      • Ah ok, so I skipped forward to the part where he suggested (but also didn’t suggest 😉) using multiple accounts with each bookie.

You can’t have multiple accounts yourself, so this would mean using family, friends to create extra accounts for you which you would use.

        Doesn’t sound sustainable.

Also video is 8 months old. From September 2024 SportsBet now requires ID to sign up. Pretty sure before that they only needed ID to cash out? You don’t really NEED to cash out via the bookie as you can effectively transfer your cash out by hedging a bet with Bet Fair.

So maybe prior to Sept 2024 you could create multiple accounts on your own, without raising flags? Maybe some bookies still allow this?

Matched betting is apparently legal but feels like borderline fraud. I feel that creating multiple accounts is a step too far.

  • Chances are you’re about to lose

  • +1

claim some of their students are making $300,000 a year from it

But how much are they losing as well?

  • I did it for about 4 years before I got banned anywhere and I think it would be very hard to make more than 50K a year from it let alone $400k and if you tried making $50k a year all your accounts will be banned in less than a year anyway. There are some scammers in Matched betting space and these guys are obviously one of them. stay away
