Currently best price it seems. Clearance at JB HI-FI for $499 (3-pack version) so around $166 for 1, I don't see a need for this but if anyone needs it its currently at a more reasonable price.

According to description this product requires the Hue Bridge however it seems like you can use alternatives like a Zigbee dongle with Zigbee2MQTT.

Thank OP, bought 1 for no reason

      True OzB !

    • +1

Same but at least I have a bunch of hue stuff and bridge already.

    • I have more room in the garage after stopping the 'Buy first think later' approach.

  • +1

Grabbed 2 not sure why had so many hue products fail on me lately

  • +24

$300 rrp is just crazy for a few leds

  • WARNING this product requires the Hue Bridge

    BS. Lol.
Looks like it is supported by Zigbee2MQTT.

    • +6

The warning is meant for the everyday consumer.

Its not technically true, but telling people to use the bridge is the most pragmatic thing for Philips without having to support their products in other configurations.

This also crossed my mind, but you should consider this thread if you haven't already.

    • You can also use it via Bluetooth but it doesn’t sync the colours to the screen

  • +2

Is this only compatible with VGA as per the Amazon listing?

    • +1

No, the listing is misleading. It works with almost all monitors. You install the software on your computer which samples the colors on your screen and send the signal to individual LED

      • +1

Thanks mate, I couldn't find that info quickly. Appreciate it.

Here is the one with the bridge - $67.99

    • Got that one, but cant find info on which bridge version they use in that package.

      • +1

        V2

      • +2

Received mine today. Came with a v2.1 bridge, which is also sometimes marketed as "v3".

    • +1

When it came to buying mine it seems there were lots of people on Ebay with unused ones in the $30 range

      • Bridge has been down to $56 at Bunnings before

    • Missed it sadly

  • For $8 more, you can get the version with the hue bridge

Clearance at JB HI-FI for $499 (3-pack version) so around $166 for 1

On clearance at RRP? JB, you've done it again!

Surely they can do better. Amazon had it for $99.99 the other day. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/894303

Sheesh, thanks for posting that! I impulsively bought three single packs but just cancelled my order after realising I could have gotten them for less.

No one uses 24-27 anymore tho

    • +1

This could be used on larger monitors. The effect is pretty much the same…

    • +1

Type monitor in ozbargain search, 24-27 is every second one from deals that sold out, you are right no one uses them at all.

      I have a 27 @ 1440p and 32 @ 4k, I prefer 27 @ 1440p it is sweet spot I think.

Also you can use it on a bigger monitor just wont fully cover, dont even need to use it on a monitor.

Can we use this on bigger tv, by joining two strips

    • You can but it won’t sync the colours to the screen, you need the hdmi sync box for the tv or some Samsung tv’s do it. The hdmi sync box is never on sale and is a rip off

  • How does it compare to those yeelight light strips? Still not using those from last deal

  • Thanks OP bought one with bridge, gave me option spend $59 and to have $5 off so overall cost was around $62.99.

  • expired

  • Thanks OP,, manages one for $59.

  • Damn. What a deal. If anyone bought some and ended up not needing/using, hit me up please!

  • Added the $67 combo to cart, and got the error message when trying to purchase. Just missed it…

  • Wow crazy

  • Can I connect 2 of these for 42 inch monitor

    • Similar question. I have 2 27’s and would like to use on both
