These 'more power hungry' CPUs are fine by me, I'll prob get solar soon. I can imagine them being a turn off for others though.Probably depending on what stock they have. Get rid of the stuff they have more stock of.

Similar performance to the N95 Mini PCs which I've picked up from Amazon deals for $70-$100 depending on memory/storage configuration, but they all came with an SSD and have WiFi/Bluetooth + much lower power consumption.
I can't remember seeing them get that low. But glad you have something that suits your use case.
Personally it was a no brainer me because I like tinkering with these sff pc's and this was better value than the $70 elite desk g2 sffs that come up here fairly often.
I agree that this would have been pretty sweet, but sold out in less than 15min :/
@Dan24: This would have been a pricing error. Originally would have been $299 with a $100 coupon but then put on as a $199 lightning deal with no coupon code but there was some overlap.

These aren't too bad, I've got a HP equivalent machine running an i3-8100 and it sits at ~20w most of the time. Couple of SSDs and a 3.5" drive in it. Depends on how low youre looking to get
Modern PCs barely use any power at idle - if it's not doing any hard work, then it won't use a noticeable amount of power.
Obviously if you're maxing the CPU for long periods then yes it's going to use a chunk of power.
Now to put a $1000 video card in it, for budget gaming

Low profile cards are so expensive, that they don't make sense any more - you can buy an entire gaming PC, brand new, including a full size 4060, for $800 from the likes of Techfast and it'll be a bazillion times faster than this $52 machine with a $600 low profile video card installed.
You can get a low profile 3050 for about $290 delivered, which can run in the likes of these, it'll be nice when the a 3050 goes for $250… makes great pc if you just want entry 1080p performance or play older titles. The lp 4060 needs a 6 pin anyway so 3050 lp is where its at for these ones.
@Dan24: $290 for the 3050 LP is actually not terrible - but by the time you've bought that, this PC, an SSD, and some RAM, you're now between $400 to $450 in total. And you've still got a 7 year old machine with a 3050 😁
@Nom: Yeah but your inner environmentalist can swell with pride as you have rescued e waste and made it something enjoyable as you watch the slide show Spiderman 2 gameplay on your "ray tracing capable" GPU. In all seriousness though. I wish a $400 ex lease PC build w/ LP GPU was my start to PC gaming as opposed to my amd a10 igpu on my Dell Inspiron uni laptop.
Also CeX sells really cheap ddr4 ram sticks which can be quickly tested using memtest and returned if faulty, if anyone else is reading, or cares.
@lohpp: I look up teardown vids so that I know whether it needs to be single slot, or whether two slot is fine. 70w low profile cards aren't very long, so length is rarely an issue. Maybe it would if you tried a 4060 lp but you won't be powering that anyway. The other thing to keep in mind is the PSU, there is a 180w in these ones but other people have run 70w cards okay according to the forums I looked at.
