7.1? Which side is the subwoofer?

from picture there is a stick thing attached to one of ear piece, user can hold it in the mouth for bass/vibration

    • Yeah might be worth the OP noting that it's not true 7.1, maybe kinda misleading to peopole that haven't done their mresearch.

      • the concept of 7.1 is intrigue me, have anyone actually tried this headset and compared to the real 7.1 surround speakers, although it's apple & orange comparison, but does the surround actually work?

          it's a marketing gimmick
for the price that these sell 'gaming' headsets sell for you can get a quality pear of headphones that will provide much better sound quality and better positional audio.

as if your ears can distinguish between the 3 small speakers right next to each other centimeters away from your ear anyway..

        • Thanks,

I got two decent pairs of headphones (Denon D2000 & AKG K701) with a proper amp & dac, and I'm an avid gamer and passionate toward technology.

Never got a chance to audience any of this gaming headphones which recently marketed as 7.1 headphone.

While I understand most of them are normal stereo headphone with virtual surround built in soundcard, if it's really work for gaming (noticeable surround sound, 7.1 or not) would love to get a hand on it (Razer Tiamat 7.1, Astro A50 or Logitech G930).

Shame there is no place in Sydney where I can try this on.
To hear if this gimmicky or really work.

Ps. current combo - onboard ALC898 with Headphone amp & Denon D2000, work well with most of the games.

I have a Logitech G930, which is just the wireless version of this. I don't have terribly much experience with high quality headphones, but the G930 (and by extension, the G35) sounds pretty good to my ears - haven't had a problem, so far. The '7.1 surround sound' can be noticed (you can switch between the emulated SS and stereo with the G930, and you can immediately tell the difference in games).

        • I have both the g35 and the psyko 7.1 headset, the sound quality of the g35 is better but the virtual 7.1 (at least for me) doesn't really do too much. The psyko headsets real 7.1 is actually noticeable the downside of them is that everyone can hear the sound as the speakers are in the headband so it can be annoying for others, I currently only use the g35 because of this.

  • i recalled there were a few sale from different sites ( includes logitechshop i guess ? ) this year 。 is this the lowest price ?

Good headphones for gaming. Good, but not great.
The covering of the foam pads on my old pair deteriorated at about the 18 month mark, and the pads aren't replaceable. Seems to be a common complaint.
    At < $90 they're a bargain though. +ve from me.

I had that problem with my G35's too, i just replaced them 2 weeks ago with the G930 and first thing i noticed was that Logitech have changed the material on the headsets,i have found them both to be excellent gaming headsets, especially playing TF2 with those pesky spies trying to back stab me all the time, when they de cloak you can really hear them from behind with the 7.1 ss.

They're horrible at that price point, get the Plantronics instead.

There is only two speakers in this thing fyi, it just uses Dolby Surround to emulate surround. (Get a $50 sound card and you can get this with any stereo headset.)

That's fine, buy the crappy headset.

I'll have you know I RMA'ed them 3 times, then gave away the last replacement and my friend also threw it out.

Not to mention I paid less than $90 for them in retail 3 years ago.

I'll admit the mic is great, but that's about all it's good for.

Pay about $100 and you can get the logitech G930 wireless headset from amazon. Not a great deal if you're looking for a bargain and don't mind the little wait time.

    • they are $120+ on amazon, any better places for the Logitech?

    • It doesn't matter if the headset is rubbish, that's your opinion. Unless the store is some sort of scam or there is a cheaper deal on this logitech product, why would you neg? I don't think negging because you don't like a product is a valid reason.

  • special for no stock = nothing special

  • Don't want to start a debate or argument on best etc but I got these the other day and I'm impressed - https://ebgames.com.au/pc-157771-Plantronics-GameCom-780-Hea…
