    • Dicksmith?

      • That's already gone. Kogan just uses its name

        • Yes, I know, but more saying gone completely.

      Mineral Resources Limited

        You mean Trompets of Patriyots?

      • Is that because now they wont be able to afford all the new tyres required when their triple road trains keep flying off their haul road and being written off

  • Myer has to be close

    • +25

Our closest is a 5 min drive away…

      But isn't that off topic?

    • +2

Myer has a bit to go I think. The Just Group owner just bought out a majority stake in it and merged most of the brands across.

Shipping tyres over the internet must be a bit harder than your average product.

I wonder if Tyroola is next?

    • Why , they're online and popular .

  • +8

I buy a shit load of tyres and never found tyresales competitive enough to use them.

    • Ditto

    • +3

I buy very few tyres and never found tyresales competitive enough to use them
      .

    • I'm surprised. I've used them once and for the last 5 years Jax, Bob Jane specials or Tyroola have always been cheaper. They weren't even close to competitive.

  • +8

What happened, couldn't they handle the pressure and failed to get a grip on the market?

    • +10

      Over inflated prices

    • +5

I think they may have been treading water for a while.

    • +7

Not a goodyear so far for them

    • +1

      It’s left everyone feeling deflated

    • This decision follows continued difficulty in achieving sustainable profitability in what is a highly competitive tyre retail and wholesale market.

Seems like they launched the brand successfully but failed to get traction 🤷

  • I have not bought any of my tyres from them, their prices always were ripping off, tis a good day
Next, I am sure Tyroola, and Trompets of Minerals!

    • +4

their prices always were ripping off

So you're saying it was highway rubbery?

Don't shed too many tears for the A$14 billion company.

  • Thanks for all the jokes/play on words etc. Very amusing, but where do we go now for the best deals?

    • Here.

    • +1

tempe tyres if you live in sydney

  • I think carsales realised nobody used anything except carsales in their network.

Anyway Tyroola is just cheaper than everyone else if you want to spin the tyre quality roulette.

  • Never considered online for tyres ive always compared a couple local businesses and bought local.

  • I am absolutely devestated that after 70 years of trading in Australia, Tupperware is closing down in Australia. It was the very first party plan ever and all they sold was plastic bowls.

I'm not sure my life will ever be the same again.

    • Tupperware is crap. Odd shaped everything which takes up more space than square, rectangular containers. I have about three tea chest size boxes of the stuff here, that belonged to my mother. All new. Anyone want to buy it.
