But only after we jack up the price.

    • TCL prices haven't been jacked, I checked a few days ago.

      • -1

They jacked them up today. I checked last night snd the prices were much lower

        • +1

          They jacked them up today.

No, back to the same price from a few days ago. The 15% off sale finished.

15% off is a terrible offer

    55" S90D $2800 while it was $17xx last week.

    Bargain!

  • +1

    Has this been cheaper before?

    Currently $6,334

Probably. I got the 75" from Bing Lee 6 months ago for about $200 less than the current 15% off price at JB. Don't know how old stock has gone up in price

  • Hisense canvas are reduced too

  • +2

Any good 65" deals? Ideally OLED.

  • +12

The Samsungs I've been looking at are well above decent sale price.

People will still blindly upvote 😂

You should be able to easily negotiate better than 15% off most TVs (though maybe not at JB-Hifi) at all other times. This is NOT a good deal.

    • Just a week ago managed to negotiate 19% off a 65" TCL at JB HiFi.

1695 for tcl 65inch c855, good deal, but i can't justify that much compared to the costco price of 1399 last year.

    • +1

Could get an additional 10% off through Ultimate gift cards.

Wait for annual stock clearance & get ~ 40% off. Manufacturers will continue drop price until ~ June.

Do your homework & wait. Many buyers are waiting also. Have a TOO-low a price is likely to see other snap-up all stock & you'll wait until next-year clearance.

    • Looks like the clearance is already happening looking at Bing Lee website:

      https://www.binglee.com.au/categories/tech/tv-video/led-lcd-…

    • Well based on conversations today with a TCL rep it seems the next shipment for NSW has very limited stock for popular models like the c855s. So bit unclear if there will be any more big sales as the ones at the end of last year were very good and cleared out most stock.

  • Does anyone know if JB will refund you if a recent purchase drops in price shortly after you buy it? I got a TCL TV on the weekend only to discover it's now a bit cheaper through this deal :(

    • +4

Apparently there is a “secret” policy where they will refund the difference if a product you purchased goes on sale within 2 weeks. I’m sure there’s employees on here that can confirm. Generally they’d prefer you remain a happy customer, and only a small percentage of customers would realise / go back to the store and ask for a refund.

      YMMV.

    • +1

Yes they will — take your receipt back to the store and they’ll refund the difference. If you ordered online, use the chat function.

Edit: Oh the deal ends tomorrow at 9am, so it’s unlikely you would get a refund as your tv will return to its original price.

  • Can anyone help sanity check and advise on this purchase please? I'm considering TCL 65" C745 for $995 because I will be primarily gaming on it at first (sitting on couch a distance away from it) so the 144hz variable refresh rate and hdmi 2.1 appeal to me. My budget is $1200 at absolute highest if I can justify the need, ideally it's under $1000 and the tv cannot be smaller than 65".

One other notable detail is I have nvidia gpu, and I see TCL tv's offer "Game sync - AMD FreeSync Premium Pro" which I suppose I will not be able to use. Don't know if that matters tbh, or what it is exactly.

Does this seem reasonable? Should I consider alternatives?

I note there is the 65" C755 for $1270 also and then with this 10% off gift cards deal tomorrow, it would bring it down to $1143 which is my under my absolute maximum. How important is the difference between QLED and mini-led? Are there any other significant advantages between these models at $995 and $1143?

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/tcl-65-c755-4k-uhd-qd-min…

    • +1

Buy a Mini LED if you can afford it. Edge-lit and even FALD is old tech now.

      • Thanks for your reply. Apart from the age difference, is there a significant difference between mini LED and the older tech like QLED etc?

    • Maybe 4K-120fps gaming is a target & a promise that can is PARTIALLY deliver only…many technical IN-compatibility & consumers are being mis-lead by the gaming industry ?

SEE it for yourself @ store with side-by-side comparison (JB-Hifi's daisy-chain TVs comparison) @ your 'sitting on couch a distance away from it' & close-up.

Even better, find video & stream it from your phone onto TCL 65" C745…with prior-permission. Matching frame-rate, resolution & YOUR-games…as close as you can.

Picture quality of games is VERY-inferior compare to bluray-quality-clips, but 'at-first' suggests that you want flexibility of use later-on-> 'I will be primarily gaming on it at first'

Technical-compatibility of TCL 65" C745 144hz hdmi 2.1 nvidia-gpu: read widely…likely you're at the frontier of this discovery? Good luck.

  • 15% off Samsung galaxy s24 ultra not to bad combo with 3% gift cards

  • 4 grand for the 98 inch. Hmm

    • Worth it, still feels small on our wall ugh

  • April-May is when they discontinue TV models and clear them out ,
so really not long to wait now, even in march you’ll start to see them get close to 50% off rrp.
