    • OG OzBargainer's lick $1 bars of soap and then spit shine their dishes.

      • My fav is dish washing powder it seems much cheaper then the tablets and equally good

But…i use powder. Isnt that ozbargains favourite.

    • Powder is great for dishwashers because you can add a tiny bit outside of the compartment for the initial pre-rinse step. However, tablets are convenient, less messy and you don't leave bits of powder lying around, especially if you have pets.

but the floating bubbles help us to know when our dog is gassy

      • do you find the sprinkle straight in the "cavern" helps with the wash?

      • I break a bit of the tablet for prerinse

Shine powder from woolies is my ozbargain's favourite. cheap as chips and very good. It's been said here a few times now so I suspect it'll start to get popular.

      • Absolutely. It's my go to. Their tablets are pretty good too but I generally use the powder. We should probably be quiet about it…if it gets out it'll never be on the shelf.

My desire to hoard the treasure is outweighed by my desire to punish the big brands for ripping us off. So I spread the love.

Aldi's Logix is always 14c per tablet, that's my favourite

    • This here for me too.

Cleaned perfectly in my budget dishwasher.

And don't give any money to Coles worth thieves.

      • This is from Catch

        • Yes it is.

And I'm referring to the ALDI comment saying I buy these so I don't buy at Coles worth.

    • +2

I just use the Aldi powder, much cheaper and you can adjust the dosage based on load

      • +2

Found aldi powder wasn't cleaning my dishes properly. So it was a false economy. Back to the tablets. Cant remember if I'm using the 12 in 1 or 18 in 1 if I'm feeling fancy. More bigger numbers more bigger good.

        • Oh, I've never had an issue. Now you've got me wondering will the tablets clean my dishes BETTER haha

        • +3

Put a small amount (teaspoon or less) of dishwashing powder on the door of your dishwasher, even if using tablets in the dispenser. Many dispensers either don't open during prewash or the tablets' detergents don't dissolve/work effectively during this stage. Without detergent in the water, prewash is just redistributing fats and oils everywhere.

Someone on OB once posted a link to a video of a dishwasher expert who had a glass front so you could see what he meant. Very informative tip, and eye-opening to see the difference.

        • +1

We have the same issue. Budget dishwasher, powder doesn't work very well. Logix tablets work a treat though

I don't shop at Catch for anything less than 50% off these days.

  • Lemon flavour is not good

    • +13

You're not supposed to eat it

  • I can't afford a dishwasher

      maybe get Married then ?

  • the quantum lemon are showing as $42.92….don't worry, changes price when checking out

  • Something not relevant for this thread but are Aldi (Stirling) dishwashers any good?

    • +1

      no

    • +1

No, they are useless. I bought one and had to do a rewash pretty much every time I used it. Pulled it out and sold it.

  • +4

I have at least 10 years worth of dishwashing tablets from all these days.

    • +5

that's only impresses ozbargainers if you don't own a dishwasher

  • Is ultimate much better than quantum?
