Just saw these whilst getting my car serviced on Friday, thought both promos were decently priced:

  • 1 x 17" x 7" Black Steel wheel (Spare)
  • 5 x Yokohama Geolandar A/T 255/65 R17 tyres

Just the tyres on their own are probably worth this price

Rip nissan. I still miss my skyline, taken too soon by a killer-roo. Thankyou for your service.

      • Damn that sucks. Which Skyline? They are my all time favourite car.

I had R33 S2 and someone decided to steal it the day after I put new tyres on it.

    • +1

      closing down sales already?

  • -1

From the t&c's on the wheel/tyre deal, they appear to be second hand, but still a bloody good deal.

I can't help but feel that nobody bought D23 Navaras. After the D40 was a decent success, i can't ever remember seeing a D23 on the road.

From the t&c's on the wheel/tyre deal, they appear to be second hand, but still a bloody good deal.

I'd say these are the factory fit wheels + tyres that were fitted to the Pro-4X when they landed in Australia, but were taken off by Premcar when turned into Warriors.

D40 was a decent success being main competition to the Hilux. Not really much competition back in 2010.

D23 sold well initially (a few thousand a month), competition got very strong from the Ranger, Triton, Bt50, new Hilux, and it started losing market share.

Now, the d23 is pretty dated compared to its competition. I.e. the new ranger and raptor is leagues a head of Navara/pro4x, that said there is a decent gap in $$.

Still, tonnes of d23 on the road, and certainly not a bad ute grabbed second hand, 2.3 is quite reliable, 7 speed pretty bullet proof, multi link suspension good off-road and comfortable, big diffs.

    • Also would have been removed by the dealership when someone optioned up their Navara pre-delivery.

    • " i can't ever remember seeing a D23 on the road."

      Except that they're everywhere lol

  • Saw an amusing bumper sticker the other day “Navara Grunt gets the C…”

      Constable?

  • +4

Yeah, Nissan is not doing well financially.

How about that former CEO Carlos Ghosn fleeing Japan inside a speaker box while under house arrest?

you can take the guy out of Lebanon but you cant take Lebanon out of the guy…

      • He’s an absolute grub.

    No specials on Nissan CVTs?

    • How did you come across this on the dealer site. I would love to find it on the dealer site for my local but can't find any banners or info. Cheers

A practically bankruptcy company trying to scrape together some money

  • +12

That is a wheely good price!

    • +9

Aren't you tyred of such lame puns? Your slick attempts at humour fall flat, so stop trying to inflate your ego. It's time to tread a new path.

      • +6

Sounds like you're having a Goodyear already. Sorry to have been such a let-down. I was just trying to avoid plain pun-ctures.

  • +1

I thought all the “PRO 4X” guys ran mud terrains, not this weak all-terrain. 😋

  • -3

Does that mean if one tyre gets punctured beyond repair, you’d have to shell $1000 out of pocket to replace at full price? 🙄

  • -5

They pay those amount cash for junk jap cars/parts and come here to… OP at least did not bash VAG cars.

  • damn, that's a great deal. i got a set of geos recently for my subaru and they are a cracking tire. paid about this much without wheels iirc…

  • +3

Buy these first, then get the car later?
    Is that the ozbargain way?

  • Are these the equivalent of 265 60 r18s?

And would these wheels simply just fit onto a Pajero sport?

    • +3

Overall 2mm increase in diameter, so yeah pretty much the same rolling diameter.

Issue will be PCD (bolt holes) and whether they are the same, and the offset of the wheels.

Edit: looks like the offset on these is +45, but on the Pajero sport its +38, which decreases the track by 14mm (7mm each side) which isn’t legal (track can increase by 25mm IIRC but can’t decrease, but also 4wd might be different from passenger cars)

      • +3

4x4's are 50mm but any track reduction needs a mod plate iirc

      • Looks like a no go

    • +2

It would be almost exactly that size however I think it’s a 255 so it’s about 10mm narrower

  • I'm guessing you've got Buckley's of them just handing you the wheels and tyres to refit to something else hey?

    • +1

Nothing stopping you buying these from a dealer, driving down to a tyre shop and pay $100-200 to swap them over

      • Hmm I'll give me local a buzz tomorrow, I just feel like they may not honour if you're not a Nissan owner. Shall see!

    • -1

      They are going under.

This is or cents in the dollar.

  • -1

Good thing Honda got out of that merger

    • Honda changed their tune and decided they wanted to buy out Nissan and make them a subsidiary, so it's not that they 'got out' and more that Nissan flipped them the bird and said they didn't want to be owned by them.

  • +1

Can these be used for Mazda cars specifically cx9 2014 model ?

    • You want to go off-road in a CX-9?

      • Haha no. Just normal roads

  • Anyone know if these Will these fit a Spanish D40 STX 550 without spacers ?

From comments above if these are offset +45 and I think the Spain d40 are +30. I’m guessing it won’t :(

  • "Hon Hai Precision Industry Co/ Foxxcon is open to buying Renault SA’s stake in Nissan Motor Co, a move that might offer the struggling Japanese automaker a lifeline."
    Taipeitimes

    • Foxxcon must want to enter the ev game. I can't see why you'd invest in this struggling company just to try and turn them around with good old fashioned know how.

  • -1

    Closing down sales…nice.

  • +7

Wasn't expecting every second comment to be about completely irrelevant things on Renault quality, business ending, Carlos etc. to this deal.
Nissan isn't shutting down and this isnt a fire sale. For such a mainstream brand thats the big 3 in Japan and 9th here in Australia, someone somewhere would want to see their business turnaround.
Anyone that owns a Nissan knows they're much better engineered cars than the rubbish that Hyundai / Kia churns out and Aussies seem to flock to. This deal is just targeted to people who owns a Nissan and can use a cheap brake pad change or new set of wheels.

  • So Nissan is taking the standard factory wheels and tyres off a considerable number of brand new PRO-4Xs, and fitting something else. And selling the wheels and tyres they are taking off cheap.

What are they fitting to all those new PRO-4Xs instead? And why? Do a lot of people buy the "all terrain" Navara model, instead of the "tradie" models, and decide they want road tyres instead of off-road tyres on them instead? That's what the fact they're changing the spare and its off-road tyre as well suggests.

  • Nissan increased warranty to 10 years!

    • But the CVT busted at 11th year. They tried very hard to get back people to buy Nissan, be warned you cannot drive Nissan more than 10 years because it needs to be written off due to CVT transmission busting. Nissan dealership quoted me to replace CVT transmission for $17,000. LOL

      • -3

Sorry but then don't keep your car for so long. We change every 2.

        • +2

LOL, you're losing way more than $17K by changing five times in 10 years - the CVT replacement is cheaper than your method.

      • +1

You can extend the life of those rubbish Jatco CVT transmissions by simply changing the transmission fluid every 50,000Km or better.

Nissan, despite making one of the worst transmissions available insists on having them sealed for life.

Their CVTs do not last 10 years if you do average mileage so this 10 year warranty will be a huge liability for Nissan if they honour it in the CVT.

        • Maybe newer Nissan CVT is better

      • The same CVT was in other brands, not just Nissan. It was a box made in partnership with Mitsubishi and is also found in Suzukis.

  • Does this work for any car?
