Very good monitor from the country of Taiwan

    • +1

Most likely made in the People's Republic of China.

The vast majority of stuff made in every house (by distinct count) would be.

On topic however, these are very good monitors. Have two, would get more! (for the price I mean, I paid $200 delivered)

    • Taiwan is officially known as the Republic of China (ROC).

Historically, the ROC once governed Mainland China and Mongolia before the People's Republic of China (PRC) was established in 1949.

Yes its always good to buy a product from Taiwan.

    • ?

Taiwan did import chemically enhanced pork from the USA.
The pork is banned in the EU and China.

  • Does anyone know of a monitor that is like this and has a USB hub? Like good ol Dell S and U series?

  • Is this a gaming monitor? If not, why? Noob here

    • -1

Not really. Refresh rate 100 which isn't bad but most gaming monitors are 120 to 165

      • +5

lol depends how good your computer is? Most new games on high graphics would not go over 100. It is perfectly fine unless you are a highly competitive gamer, and if that was the case you wouldn't need to ask this question.

      • unless you have a 4070 you're not gaming at over 100fps on 1440p on high settings on newer games. lol

      Marketing wise?
      No, its a productivity monitor.

In use, its certainly not bad.
At 100hz, things will be significantly crisper in motion than the 60hz you're likely used to.
1440p is a realistic resolution to target also, on affordable hardware.

Id wager that anyone whos worried about the extra 20hz would benefit more from the pixel response of oled, rather than that concern.

  • Pity not 34” wide.

Looking for a good cheap ‘game’ one.

If its 34 someone else will say pity not 42 narrow

Its a great monitor by a great Taiwanese company. I bought one last year and happy with it.

Got 2 for my home office which I’m setting up! What dock should I go for, so I can plug in these - any recommendations pls ?

A Dell D6000 from this deal would be a great fit.

I wonder why its so difficult for most manufactures to include a USB C input in 2025 !
I purchased a brand new sealed box generic SANSUI 1080p 27" monitor with speakers and USB C for C$100 in Canada in Sept 2023 from a direct importer with no warranty ( 1 year store warranty was extra $30 and I was not sure how long the store was going to be in business)

Reading things like this makes me wonder if companies treat Australia as a dumping ground for old products.

    • Not only that, if you're building a PC, about 2/3 of the current motherboards and cases on the market don't have USB-C. You have to do a quite a bit of research to find ones that do have USB-C while also having the other specs you need.

      • Mobo manufacturers can save 6 cents on the controllers so they can charge an extra $100 at checkout.

  • Looking for a business monitor with built-in webcam, mic and speakers. Any good reasonably priced ones out there?

    • Nope, just add a Creative webcam.

They're grainy, but give zero shits about your lighting and maintain a reliable fast framerate.

They also have a decent mic, so you dont need to source one of those either.
