Large Refrigerator - Mitsubishi 635L $3500 Vs Bosch 605L $2000

Our 8yo LG fridge is on the way out and need a new one.

Started looking and it seems a general consensus that the Mitsubishi is the best fridge. But a Bosch has taken my eye and the price is pretty appealing.

Any real world reviews or anyone have access to choice of these 2 models?

Thanks

  • We've got a different model Mitsu here for the last three or four years and had no problems. Looks very similar to the one in the pic so maybe that is the updated model?

  • Mitsubishi 635L $3500 V Bosch 605L $2000

One that $1500 cheaper? unless Mitsubishi 635L has features thats worth $1500 ?

  • I'd only bother with the Mitsubishi price if their 700L is the only one that can suitably fit your space: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/879762

The few and far between discounts means you end up paying the same as 2-3 fridges - even low end ones will probably last a good decade?

Hello! I've looked into this exact point before.

I think where I've landed is — Mitsubishi make excellent fridges, but it's only really certain models which justify the premium price. In particular, the models made in Japan, which have the extra drawers (and the tech that comes with it) — see eg the MR-WX700C-S-A. I have a smaller version of that fridge, and it really is worth the extra money. Keeps food fresher for longer, feels exceptionally solid, and has some nice features and tech inside etc. Whisper quiet and energy efficient too.

The Mitsubishi fridge model you linked is one of their "lower tier" models, made in Thailand, and only has the standard spaces/tech you'd find in most fridges. A decent fridge to be sure — but I am not sure it is really worth the extra price, over something like the Bosch.

  • Bosch is half a star more energy efficient, so you'll save more than the headline $1500 in due time.

  • The Bosch has free setup, so I guess they will remove all the tape holding the draws in place or whatever?

If you wanna stretch a little, go for the Mitsu 700L.

I got it and it's the best fridge ever.

It is quite heavy, worth noting when getting it delivered.
It also sacrifices a bit of freezer space to have the vegetable drawer, but it's perfect for my style of eating.

The ice maker is awesome, and it fits in relatively more compact spaces compared to similar volume'd fridges because the insulation is thinner and better.

      Why is it the best?
