Need Help Choosing a Speaker Set between $80 to $130

Wanting to buy a new speaker set for my computer for gaming and playing loud music around the home with a budget of $80 to $130 ish. I have a few in mind…

Logitech Speaker System Z313 $75

Edifier R1380DB $89

Logitech Z407 $125.80

Will consider any other suggestions as I am hoping to get the best bang for buck speakers around the $80-130 price range.

Picked a pair up today instead of forking out for the shipping.

These are essentially identical to the Edifier R1700BT model. Slightly different casing, slightly different mid-bass driver, slightly different Bluetooth module. Those differences aren't significant. The biggest difference is the amplifier which is a little bit more powerful in the R1700BT.

For nearly half the price, these are a bargain.

    • Yeah this was the one I was wanting to go with, but then i saw a bunch of rather bad reviews, and was put off buying them but the there seems to be a rather high number of good reviews. Would you say these would be close enough to the sound quality/loudness of the Logitech z407's?

i havent bought any logitech speakers since the z2300/z5500 era which is like nearly 15 years ago now (as they are still working 100% lol)
not sure what the product is like now - but edifier speakers get a really good wrap here in general when going on special, im sure it will be fine.

        • Alright thanks, yeah after asking a few friends I think these are the ones I will go for as they also have bluetooth as well.

    • Doesnt seem like theres too many specials for these.

  • I know it's not stereo and might not give you the same immersive sound, but I got my Google Nest Audio permanently connected to my PC via bluetooth. It connects every time I turn the PC on, without having to manually connect, and the sound is pretty good (for a PC speaker). Price is $149. The bonus is, you can also use it as a smart speaker. I guess there are better options in this price range though.

On another note, I also got my PC connected to 2 Google Home Maxes paired in stereo mode via 3.5mm cable, and the sound quality is absolutely phenomenal, especially when playing Spatial Audio. But this is an entirely different price category, in fact I don't think you can buy them anymore.

  • Because you mentioned loud music, can you stretch your budget to get a 2.1 system? Or compact soundbar plus sub?

Based purely on brand name and no experience whatsoever:

    Edifier.

Logitech speakers have been bottom of the barrel meh for 20+ years. The Edifiers might not be any better, but the company just makes speakers, versus keyboards, mice and webcams.
