Guessing it's the X20 with 5000pa, cause they sell the X20+ as well for like $1800
X20 has no auto empty dust bin feature too.
Thoughts on this vs a similar spec'd roborock on sale?
Will be 50% off in a few more days on top! HODL
you sure it won't be out of stock?
Almost definitely will be OOS before then

Australia’s popular online retailer Catch is shutting down after years of losses amid fierce competition from Amazon, Temu, and Shein.
The company’s owner, retail giant Wesfarmers, announced on Tuesday that Catch will stop selling products from April, marking the end of the online retailer that was acquired in 2019.
Catch is expected to report an operating loss of between $38 million and $40 million for the first half of the 2024-2025 financial year, Wesfarmers said.
?
So you joined OzB to write this?
Smells like a chatgpt copy and paste slop job to me.
It's a news article copy and paste
The Xiaomi robot vacuums are not region locked like Roborock etc. I'm using the latest Xiaomi M40 flagship robot vacuum only costs around $600AUD shipped from China if you buy from Taobao international the equivalent spec is the Roborock Qrevo Edge at $2800.
Link?
just do a search on Taobao "xiaomi m40" wait for sales to come up and it will be around 2500RMB i bought my unit during the last 11.11 sale. Ship it with their international fright forwarding service using sea freight for around $80AUD. btw. The X20 for sale here is 2 gens older than the M40.
what about dud units etc? can that be a problem. Also what about buying from AliExpress etc
@DrDan: It's $600 compared to $2800 i'm willing to take my chances with this much difference in price Dreame X40 ultra and Roborock Qrevo Edge are just all rebadged M40s with different case design, buying a 2nd one will still be cheaper. My last 2 robot vacuums never broke down used it till the battery degraded. They slap on 300% Australian tax is disgusting.
@Creamsoda: Hey, curious which seller you bought it from?
Saw one from a seller name that translates to 'Xiaomi official flagship store'.. not sure how official it is.
@Creamsoda: Not sure where you're getting this information, but some of it is just not true.
The Edge is superior compared to the M40 in almost every way outside obstacle avoidance. It is NOT a re-branded M40 at all.
Don't compare Xiaomi models to Roborock, there are clear differences.
The best comparisons are to the Dreame models since the Xiaomi models are almost like re-branded Dreame robot vacuums.
The biggest downside of the M40 is that it does not have the ultrasonic carpet sensor meaning that it will NOT automatically detect carpet vs tile/hardwood and therefore it will require you to manually set up carpet zones in the app. This is a gigantic deal breaker for me personally.
The M40 is essentially a Dreame X40 without the automatic carpet detection. This is the most accurate description of it.
Yeah actually still a whole lot more expensive than buying directly from China.
Australia Tax.
Link please
Thanks for sharing Creamsoda - a very handy workaround!
do you have to change the region in the xiaomi home app?
do you have to change the region in the xiaomi home app?
My home APP is registered in AU with AU phone number so everything is in English. the device region is set to China.
Can you sell it second hand later after you have registered it in the app?
from what I can see, the M40 seems to be weaker than the Qrevo Edge, has a shorter runtime and is able to “climb” 20mm vs 40mm for the Qrevo Edge
Is this a good robovac for a first timer?
Yes
Brought it at $699 the other week and I am happy with it. It was actually a gift for my mother but I set it up and checked it a few times. I have an x40 ultra. It has great suction and similar features. Only disadvantage would be that it only comes with a Chinese plug, had heaps of spare cables in my shed tho.
wait you have this or x40 ultra
Yes
Sorry * also have an x40 ultra
IM a little confused - i had a Xiaomi Mi Roborock S50 from a while ago and looking to upgrade….
is Roborock and Xiaomi the same thing? or are they different companies now?
Wanting to continue using the same software to control my vaccuums from 1 app as opposed to you
Roborock is partially owned by Xiaomi?
Kinda like Lexus and Toyota I thinkThey're separate companies. Originally when Roborock was starting up, Xiaomi pumped them up with money to get started and together they released the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum. After that Roborock went on their own and started producing them under their own brand.
Any stores that sell "Xiaomi Roborock" are just using the Xiaomi name to drive up sales. Most secondary brands, i.e. Viomi, Dreame, Yeelight, 70mai, Amazfit, Aqara and 1MORE received funding from Xiaomi but are separate companies.
OOS
How good are these? Does it actually vacuum every part of the floor well or is it sorta a half ass job that's better than nothing?
No, it misses some parts based on it's mood.
I would like to know this too. My wife wants to buy one, but I'm reluctant thinking it's a novelty. For $500+ I wanna be happy I spent the money, but I'm not so sure that it'll do as good a job as I'd like.
Last remaining!!
thankfully - oos, before i decide anything.
anyone got snapshot/receipt ?
Interestingly the description and picture all belongs to X20 plus, not x20.
Was looking for a new one since my roomba died. would be good to know when this comes up again
search 'robot vacuum' and use 'create alert' - any deal posted with these words will send you notification.
Doesn't work lol, most times the good deals are gone by the time the alert is sent to your email
I don't use the email function. I just check the notifications icon on browser and it works fine. If I am checking after a day or two, deal will be gone surely but at least I would know that something came up.
is this the X20 or X20+? The X20 is meant to only have 5000pa suction, whereas the X20+ is 6000pa
