TPG nbn Outage - Anyone?

Is anyone else experiencing issues with their TPG NBN in Sydney? Dropped out about 20 mins ago.

I have tried their online outage checker, but helpfully its not functioning (says address search unavailable).

Still offline here. Their communication has been poor. Checking early evening, there were no social media updates to even recognise the problem.

As others have said, status check on the Vodafone website pointed to the NBN tool, where the address check didn’t work either. So I was going around changing routers, then rebooting multiple times, thinking my hardware had failed.

They’ve posted an update on Facebook saying it’s resolved with the ‘majority’ of services restored. I’m not in that majority.

  • Have any TPG users noticed slow DNS since the outage? I was wondering why websites were taking much longer to access and decided to check my DNS settings of the router and discovered that they had somehow been reset back to the TPG DNS servers when I had previously set them up to use Google DNS instead.

I switched my DNS setting back to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (Google DNS servers instead of TPG) and I'm now back to much faster site access.

Not sure if TPG did a router reset after the outage or if the change occurred previously and I just hadn't noticed it.
