My concern that is it comfy on squeeze the ear helix? No NC?
On the launch I had it for a month, its very comfy and sounded good too, just not loud enough for my taste. for example its pretty good at home but when i was walking in mall it even on 100% vol it wasn't louder
Whats the difference between these and the regualr ones?
QCY Crossky C30 is a decent budget option if the Bose is out of your budget.
I have the QCY's and they are great. extremely comfortable, 100% natural transparency because open earbuds, battery life is as claimed.
reviews say in terms of function you aren't getting anything dramatically better with the Boses so you might as well get the budget versions. which is probably why the price on these Ultra Open's has dropped so suddenly.
I have these, I paid a lot more for it! I don't like earbuds in my ears and I don't like noise cancelling for safety reasons, so they work well for me.
I also have the Soundcore dupe and these are much more comfortable.
Only issues with not being noise cancelling is that if I'm watching a video that has a low volume, it's a struggle to hear if the surrounds are noisy (usually traffic for me) even at top volume. The design pro means you can hear everything in the background but also the con is that you can hear everything in the background…
In my opinion semi in ear buds like JBL Live Flex, Moondrop Block are better, lot more cheaper and have better sound quality than these while having the same benefits as these.
I find open ears have their use case. I like to use them when i want to give the inside of my ears a breather and when i want to be fully aware of my surroundings while having some background music.
while having the same benefits as these.
not exactly. I have had both. Semi open like Flex, Block still completely cover your ear hole and physically block it. I also used to prefer Semi open because you can hear more outside sound, but after trying Open earbuds like Bose Ultra open/QCY C30 they are 95% close to not having anything in your ear at all.
maybe it doesn't look like it from pictures, but Open earbuds are actually sitting on the outer area of your inner ear, meaning there is absolutely nothing obstructing your ear hole, there is a air gap there. so you can understand how it's like having nothing in your ear at all. they are also more comfortable because of this.
forgot to say I have a pair of semi opens that refuse to stop working, taotronics, so I compare both almost everyday.
the taotronics semi opens block noise so outside sound like people talking sounds more muffled. while the QCY opens literally feel like you don’t have any earbuds in.
I don’t think this kind of earphones are worth it at this price tag. Whether you get this or a cheap one, the sound quality is always going to be affected by the environment
10000%
Comfort could make it worth the price difference.
I have a pair of cheap ones paid $50 from a deal found here on ozb. They’re comfortable. Being outside of your ear, it’s a kind of product that is comfortable by design
It really depends on your ear. e.g. two comments above yours is someone mentioning it's much more comfortable than the Soundcore version. Not all designs are the same.
I back that 100%! I got the Ultra headphones, QC2 and bought another refurbished QC2 from Bose on sale recently.
Why do you have more than one pair of the same earphones?
one pair for wifey!
I'm assuming that Bose will price match on their website and we can take advantage of the 90-day product trial?
Yeah, they should be.
Please don't ! I thought the same last year, Bose make you pay full so they can refund the difference in few days, i didn't get my refund for whole month and their customers service chat was waste of time, had to call their number and initiate the return, even then i didn't get refund for another month, had to call them again and then finally got the refund.
I like Bose products but i will never buy any thing from their website directly, but rather from Jb or amazon.
Just my 2 cent, take it however you want.
Yes, but you will pay full price then they will refund the difference when you received the product. Dont know how long that process gonna take and if myer deal is off while your product is still in delivery? I dont know.
I lost faith in Bose earbuds after using the QC Ultras.
QC Ultra earbuds is awesome. best NC ever
Pretty happy with mine so far too.
NC was ridiculously good but everything else about them was glitchy. Could not live with them so sent them back.
Agreed. Can’t live without it now
Can anyone comment on these for Running/Cycling? I've lost my Shokz and trying to decide if i re-up on another set of them or try something different
Also interested for cycling. I tried some cheap Truefree O1 open-ear headphones with a similar design, and I basically couldn't hear anything over 25km/hr, which means they're really only useful climbing hills…
Definitely can vouch for these for sports, they're the first earphones apart from Shokz I've used for endurance sports, and they're super stable.
Unfortunately I had lost them when going to the airport, you easily forget that you're wearing them because you don't feel much from them, and when you take a jumper or t-shirt off, they tend to get loose and drop without you noticing.
I wanted to try the Bose but couldn't justify the price, ended with with these Tozo earrings for $50, they go loud (if you used them at full volume I fell you'd damage you hearing over time loud)
I don't quite understand the target customer base for this model. Even at $200.
Runners.
They're great when you're in an office and want some background music or podcasts going but still need to know when your colleagues are calling for you.
Garbage product. Not even worth half the RRP:

You're missing the entire point of open earbuds.
Try the Soundpeats Pearlclip Pro for much less on Amazon to see if this type of earbuds suit you
Nice, can finally try the real one, tried a knockoff to get a feel, it was ok but not as comfy as the huawei freeclip, will see if the original is better.

i think that this promotion is for yesterday 9 Feb 2025.
oh that sucks 😂 I just posted it as a deal.
I was expecting someone would have posted it already, so when I looked and didn't find I thought I should post it..
Saw it was OOS on amazon but still in stock at Myer, picked it up in-store, staff were little confused saying "it must be a mistake" but honoured it regardless.
Thanks OP, just lost my old pair of sonys this came just in time.
what about dyson ones with air filter, these are 199 too
Amazon are matching Myer, which have all colours at $199.95
