Not the cheapest and pricier than launch, but with stock shortages and inflated prices, this is the best deal I’ve seen in a while. Currently goes for $929+.
Excludes: Northern Territory, QLD Far North, QLD South East, WA Regional, WA Remote

lol if you're in the spot of being CPU bottlenecked. Is more my ol GPU chugging - and the 5080 being largely a disappointing POS (and largely unavail anyway)! Though I do appreciate a good CPU will still eke out some extra frames, regardless
I am waiting to upgrade my 8700k, I saw this last night and would have probably grabbed if my ebay plus was active.
My 3070 can keep going until I find a better deal on a higher end 4xxx or a 5080.
Good luck soldier, I had a chat with some of the guys at centrecom and the 40 series has been entirely nuked from stock except for a pallet of 4090s that have just come in stock for $3800.
And with the stock shortages you’ll have plenty of time to wait and save
@Rorku: I ended up getting this CPU, my current build has been kicking since 2018 and is totally fine for everything I do and play, just getting the itch to upgrade.
The 3070 is still perfectly fine until I can find something else to replace it.
Interesting seeing its not instock on there own website - be interesting to see if they actually deliver
Bought one yesterday and it was dispatched late last night. I think you can still do the click and collect in-store, they doing this to avoid scalpers.
ah yea there site is pretty bad with the big "not available" stamped over the page when its actually available just click and collect only
You can do click and collect on stores as I did this a couple of weeks ago even though they said it was out of stock online.
OOS
OOS
Edit: they keep trickle feeding more stock every time 5 sells out
Probably never in stock? Anyone successfully order one?
1 minute update: See, it is back. 5 more.
05 Feb, 2025 - 11:46:05 AEDST - Quantity
Good one.
Hopefully not fake stock
Picked up 3 for future builds, thanks op
Crazy how much these have gone up. I guess we didn't realise how good we had it a year ago for the comparable 7800X3D https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/844265
This is when you have no competition.
Agreed, crazy how great these are at gaming
I thought AMD were the 'good guys' according to many people in ozbargain itself
It is all about supply and demand, demand out strips supply, price goes up!
I got mine for $460. Absolute bargain.
damn - $40 over MSRP is now a deal, fun times
Back in stock
Dream cpu for iRacing.
$804 with 4% off eBay gift cards from Rewards Gateway
Great CPU but best wait little longer if you can
For?
Personally I'm waiting for them to hit launch price on principle
Got mine on launch, can't believe the prices atm.
PB Tech have it for the same price too if that helps non eBay+ users
Update, price has been updated
lol. That was fast!
Centrecom is trickling in stocks, refresh the page every now and then and it may be restocked. It was OOS but now I see stock as of 1:19 pm Sydney Time.
Centrecom must have all of Australia's 9800X3D inventory
This or 7800x3d ??
given that 7800x3d is also close to $800, get this if you are upgrading from older chips. However upgrading from 7800x3d to 9800x3d is not worth
Really? Price of that has gone up too? From AliExpress sellers? I paid $460 for mine, delivered, last year.
Managed to grab one yesterday, Im suprised how long it lasted. AM5 board deals seem to be non existent at the moment though.
dammit, I'm late again :D
back in stock
Bought this for $879 last week, great deal ;_;
I bought this exact deal yesterday afternoon. Centrecom have not had stock on their website for a long time but they had stock on eBay. I have been watching because there was supposedly only 5 in stock.
My order was at 49 units sold. Last I checked earlier today it was up to 73 units sold. Once a few orders are made, the stock replenishes back 5 units in stock. All the while the listing has claimed "last ones remaining".
It seems either they don't actually have stock or they have been using eBay to create a sense of urgency of missing out, tempting people to order so they dont miss the deal.
Either way this seems like pretty shady tactics to me.
Alot of other stores expecting stock soon, wouldnt be suprised to see price drops very soon
its working as well judging by the comments
The big lesson that manufacturers across the globe learned in the covid times is that you can produce less and charge more.
Thanks. Ordered one for my new AM5 build. I'm still waiting for 5090 to be back in stock.
I ordered a 9800X3D a week ago from JW, and was wondering if there's a reason to them taking so long to dispatch my order. Is there a shortage of these CPU's in Australia? As on their website, my order still says processing. I can't remember if it said that it would take a few weeks, but after reading some of the comments on this deal, it looks like CentreCom is shipping their stock out pretty much instantly.
My order was marked as shipped almost instantly and tracking provided.
Still hasn't been picked up by Auspost yet. Order was yesterday afternoon.
Yeah, I’ve already got the tracking number - eta this Friday.
For a good few weeks or more, JW were the only store to have the 9800X3D "Available for shipping". However, like all the other stores, they didn't have stock in hand, thus the "Usually leaves our partner warehouse in 3-4 weeks" message under the shipping information on the item's page. Looks like you could possibly be waiting a good while longer.
Do you reckon I should cancel my JW order and have a crack at this deal with CentreCom?
Have you called them and spoken to someone about it? If not that'd be the first thing I'd do.
There's a shortage of these CPU's worldwide. AMD even called Intel out, saying they thought they'd have enough for launch, but underestimated how bad Intels latest stuff would be, so it's selling out everywhere while Intels stuff gets ignored.
Surely if this many has been ordered there will be delays..
Unless the whole of Australia got stock
It seems they've got a few hundreds stock
Whats the 'best' pairing for a 4070Ti Super you guys reckon? Currently have a 7600 in there but thinking about getting something a bit more beefy but this seems a bit overkill if not considering futureproofing.
Dont reckon the 7600 be holding you back with FPS with the 4070Ti (unless chasing 1080p super high frame rates!) - probs better pumping some coin into a GPU (at some point!)
Ordered and just got tracking sent
Geez. Sold a lot more than we thought. Just ended the listing…
Seems a bit of a case of "the more you buy…" regardless of RRP eeek
Question is, did you go over stock?
Why not just buy the Chinese CPU? Snapdragon etc
some one I know got one but it came with a virus…
Everyone has lost their mind. At the end of the day as awesome as it is for gaming this is an 8c16t part for 16c32t prices. The 9800x3d is only the best if all you want is gaming performance. At these prices I'd put a bit more into a 9950x3d when they come out. Let's hope AMD don't play the supply trickle game to drive up those prices too. Who am I kidding. It's 2025.
It is almost 2 months after it was release the price hasn't moved much, I reckoned this is the best deal you can get at the current climate (with eBay plus help).
Yes, it's the best deal you'll get in the current climate. It's also a terrible deal!
It is what it is ¯_(ツ)_/¯
9950x3d is going to face the same supply/price issues when it comes out unfortunately.
Yep as I said above if you can find a 7950x3D that might be the better idea if you're looking to build in the next 6 months.
True
Easy buy if you're building soon and have Ebay Plus
