FAQ
Q. It’s ONLY 60Hz?!?! In 2025?!?!
A. Yes, it’s a 60Hz screen, not 120Hz, not 144Hz; this is NOT a gaming monitor. Yes it cost more than $500 and it SHOULD have 120/144Hz in 2025 and I totally get your frustration. Personally I’d get the Dell G3223Q 144Hz (99% sRGB 95% DCI-P3) instead if it’s available again.

I have this paired with a mac mini and tempted to get a second at this price. The stand is fantastic and it's an excellent monitor for work

If you plan to use two of these, side by side in landscape, make sure you have the desk space (depth) to have the screens far enough back that you can see the edges. I bought a second screen and it works, but it took some doing.

      • Yeah, this is a good point actually. My second screen primarily lives in portrait so should be alright, but definitely something to consider

    • Can I ask — with your Mac mini — do you find you have to unplug and replug (or switch off/on) your monitor, every time you restart?

I have that issue with this monitor (and I have two of them, one at home one at work), so not sure if it's just me!

      I knew it!!! lol

Dell G3223Q is hard to find now.

  • I have the 27" version with the same stand. The stand really makes this a nice monitor. Having a 4K resolution on a 32" display might be a tad low res though. Hoping for 5K models to come out soon with the same stand.

    • I was thinking the same as well; got a 27", 28" and 32" 4K. 32" suits me the best; trying to get rid of the 27" and 28" atm!

Thank you OP, got one! Tempted to get two but then I have to get a bigger desk… hmmm….

      nah, get two :)

      • instructions unclear: TT got two desks

    • The BAU reply should be: bought 10x, thanks OP :p

I thought it's more about the clarity of the display with these UltraFine displays, 60Hz won't bother you at work. I can definitely tell the difference in the image quality between my Lenovo 32" 4k and this LG UltraFine. I think it used to be the closest you could get in clarity compared to the Mac displays, not sure about now, probably OLED does a better job. And yeah the stand is better than most monitor vesa mounts, it's a proper monitor arm (or I haven't used a good one yet lol).

Very good monitors, use for photo and video editing, colours very good. The comments from others about having enough desk space are very correct though, especially if you run two (like I do).

  • Thank you! I wanted a monitor to replace my current Dell monitors for my WFH setup with my mac mini.

  • I'm going to join in and repeat, this is not a gaming monitor!

I'm a designer, and I love this monitor, but if you're not making money off visual media and especially colour correction, do not even consider it.

If you are in the bucket that can make use of this, that native dci p3 is so good, this is a bargain at full price.

I have this monitor. Its a little more expensive / 60hz only compared to other 32 inch displays but the image quality is top notch. The stand is also super ergonomic and makes adjusting it super easy. I use it for work and photo / video editing.

    • Same here. Using it right now. It sticks out a bit from the desk though towards me (I came from a Dell) so I do wish I had the ability to push the monitor back further (the arm is already collapsed as far as possible) but now I'm used to the distance.

I love this monitor — BUT I'm not sure I can agree the quality is best in class. I use it with a 4K Dell and the resolution on the Dell is just slightly better, enough to make me prefer using the dell for word processing.

    • Just wondering which Dell monitor are you using? Is it the U3223QE?

      • U2720Q.

I'm not saying the Dell is a better deal — I bought it during lockdown when I was stuck interstate and needed a decent work monitor. I think I paid about $700 for it.

The LG is definitely a better deal. But only recently did I start using the two side by side, and noticed that the Dell is noticeably brighter and the text a bit crisper.

But like with most of these things, I would not have noticed the difference if I hadn't put the two next to each other.

  • i bought two extension cables off aliexpress for the power supply and soldered them together to make a power splitter so that i can run two monitors off one power brick

My regular monitor for the last 6 months and really love it. I WFH 5 days a week and use a KVM and all the individual inputs too. Monitor arm is solid and stable.

    Have these hooked up:
    1. PC - Displayport
    2. Mac Mini, Work laptop (mainly office type apps), Raspberry Pi400 (KVM to HDMI 1)
    3. Playstation 4 (to HDMI 2).

Only real drawback is that to change the display inputs you have to use the monitor buttons.

    Pros for me:
    * Built in speakers
    * space above bezel for a discrete webcam (for meetings/Whatsapp) - share the USB through the KVM for the PC, Mac Mini, RPI 400.

I went from a 34" 1440p Samsung to this and I much prefer this for the sharpness and clarity. The Samsung now serves as spare TV/display for cheaper computer/kids laptop.
