Check ur bios first. Mine was already on the latest version. Was able to install proxmox without any issue

    • i rufus'd a win11 iso
i booted normally and activated its window license.
i then mounted the win11 iso
      and double clicked it.
      and installed it that way.

      • On a n150 without updating the bios first?

        • +1

yep, literally the computer from this deal.
          worked fine

clarifiaction: i first booted with the provided win11 install on the machine
then the iso mounted then double clicked on setup

    • opnsense installed fine from a bootable usb. Maybe windows specific?

      • Is there a mobile app to manage opnsense, similar to the Unifi Network app?

        • I don't know, this is my first time dipping a toe into opnsense. A quick google tends to imply there are a couple for android, but I have no idea how feature rich they would be. Hopefully the web site is responsive enough that it doesn't matter for my use case.

Glad I went with the N97 version just for the extra storage space. I have 60GB free out of 500GB. Loaded with retro!

  • anyone know if you can programmatically change the colour of the led light in the base (not via bios)?

  • Does anyone have the g2 plus driver pack? The google drive version from the website says download limit is reached

    • +1

I've had a bit more luck with downloading the drivers/OS after signing into Google Drive, so give that a try.

  • I did a clean install of windows however Windows 11 isnt showing as activated now as it appears the license key wasnt saved to the bios.

  • Sorry for the dumb question. Bought one of these and hooked it up to my monitor. Im assuming i need a cabled keyboard to do the setup process .

    • Or a 2.4ghz wireless keyboard.

      • It wants me to go through a setup 1st.
I have a wireless keyboard and mouse but how do i connect them prior to the set-up

        • +1

If your wireless keyboard and mouse use a 2.4Ghz usb dongle all should be fine. Bluetooth won’t work until windows is working.

          • @boxall: I bought a cheap wired one. Im in now.
Isnt Microsoft meant to be included

            • @HotPie: Windows 11 Pro is included. Is that what you are asking about?

Have a 87w power brick and the N97 won’t go over 2.9GHz. Weird.

Edit just found this on the N range:

All core turbo is 2900Mhz, 1 core is 3600Mhz. 2 core is ~3400Mhz

    • Every time it is runs it varies a lot, so just gonna enjoy retro gaming on it. Sega Model 3 is sweet!!!

  • Fellow Non tech ppl be advised installing new Win OS may not be smooth sailing. I activated the OS it came with, rufused new Win ios from MS site, ran the usb from inside original Win. Eventually failed “ 0x8007000D - 0x2000C
The installation failed in the SAFE OS phase with an error during APPLY MAGE operation”. Won’t bother trying again, I don’t find this fun, already a few hours wasted. Getting a refund. Another thing to consider, eventually needing to use drivers sourced from GMKtek rather than the MS update process worries me. If I was happy to do that I wouldn’t bother attempting a ‘safe’ Win install.

    • N97 version. Happy with using the default. Windows updates working fine so far for me.

  • Has anyone had issues with their GMKtec failing to restart? Shutdown works fine but restart results in no signal until i hold down the power button and port it back on. Reset the bios already. Had this issue with a clean install of windows 11 which somehow resolved itself… just installed Ubuntu on it and its now happening on that

    • Sorry no issues on mine at this stage. Touch wood!

    • Yep. I think it restarts, but doesn't pick up the monitor.

Hold down F7 or Esc as it reboots. It seems to get confused when I switch which OS to boot from.

    • Oh dual booting???
