Car Headrest Screens - Mirrored

Hey all,

Looking to place a couple of screens on a both headrests, ideally a mirrored set that will cast or be controlled from front panel or mobile phone. Have had a look at Aliexpress etc but just a little unsure on what to be on the look out for and quality? We have 3 kids in the back so looking to keep them entertained

or be controlled from front panel or mobile phone.

In Vic, those devices would be illegal.

Just get the kids a cheap AliExpress tablet each.

Perhaps teach them conversation. It's free.

Headrest monitors moght be illegal. Not sure about the rules, but believe you cant have monitors visible by other drivers.

    Children are backseat drivers?

    • Visible to other drivers outside the vehicle. Could be wrong though.

The issue would be if the driver can use another device to control them, like casting or controlling them from their phone.

That is illegal to do in VIC as what you can use your phone for in the car is very limited.

For the devices in the back seat to be legal, they would need to be stand-alone and not linked to your phone.

  • My Prado came with a roof mounted fold down screen from new. I'm sure it's 100% visible to other drivers. Has wireless headphones and remote for the back seat drivers.
