  • Can i store flammable items in there so gas canisters? To protect from heat

inner size is smaller than A4 sheet so can't keep birth certificates. Only passports and cash

    • I am not sure if the data / specification on Costco site is correct. However, the Officeworks website describes the same SE1200 model

      • This chest has a 5 L capacity and is designed to fit A4 sized documents without folding.

      External Dimensions: 391 W x 363 D x 167 H mm.
      Internal Dimensions: 325 W x 215 D x 111 H mm.

The review on OW says it can't fit A4

        • I will be using this for keeping passports and few jewelries. So it suits my purpose. The larger size chests are available at officeworks website. But I wouldn’t spend that much money.

That's right, someone in the Q and As mentioned that the description is for the 7.8L model

As recommended by 9 out of 10 Melbourne tobacco stores.

If not in the tobacco business you should be aware that Lithium batteries can burn for hours and can reach over 1000C. Might need something a little more robust?

    • Don't store the case right next to 1000degC lithium batteries…

  • Would this work to store my lithium batteries inside?

    • +1

Why not just get a lipo safety bag.

We have a fire-proof (*resistant) document case like this. Just be aware that humidity can build up in these and grow mould on your documents. I assumed it was air-tight, but apparently those little water molecules still sneak in.

Just open it for an hour every couple of weeks.

Do you live in the tropics? some water will always get in unless you’re opening it in a room with 0 humidity.

    • Or put dessicants in it

  • With all these recent battery related fires,

    what recent Battery related fires?
apart from scaremongering stories from the Murdoch press, any actual evidence of this??? Overloaded powerboards & double adaptors sure.
