It's been this price for a long time.

Check out this comment recommending ecoflow river 2 instead from @FoxJump

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16202703/redir

    • Price is still way different for the EcoFlow.

      • +2

        River2 atl was $329

        • +3

Exactly, so if you want to spend the extra $129 for the differences between those two units I think the average ozbargain member would need to hand in their membership ;)

          • +2

@Gomo: Just sharing feedback, as this seems the normal price

          • +2

@Gomo: Bargain doesn't just mean cheapest price - there is also the actual price/quality factor - the base bluetti unit is rubbish

          • +1

@Gomo: the differences are WELL worth it !
amazon $319 for ecoflow river 2 atm

          • +4

@Gomo: Example of where i used the ecoflow "differences"
            - limit car charging to 6ah so i dont blow the car circuit or 8ah if clamped to battery
            - small 400w inverter clamped to car battery and charge the ecoflow in 1hr of car running at 360w (more than bluetti)
            - set dc charge schedule so it can charge at 6ah for 4hours at night, so charging the battery doesnt flatten my car starting liefpo battery.
            - use bt app to turn on / off ac that has a vornado 533dc plugged in when camping.
            - charge the river2 from a powerbank (via usb c) if i need more power overnight to keep the fridge cold while i sleep.
            - as an unattended ups so power it can run nas / poe /cameras at home on outages.

the real good feature are the charge schedule, the fast charging that works, and the car charging-limit

      • the turbo charging is a lie.
it doesnt always turbo charge. sometime's its very slow..

That cable wont work with the AC2A, requires an XT60 connector for DC input

      • Gotcha, Thanks I removed my original comment to avoid confusion with new owners.

  • If anyone knows where to find a cheaper alternative cable for using a cars 12v socket to charge the unit post a link below, the official one I found is below,

    AC2A Car Charging Cable 72cm $49

    • -4

ecoflow River 2 includes car charger cable

      • +2

Do you work for Ecoflow? the dude was just trying to find a compatible cable ffs, your comment is really irrelevant.

        • @alo1234 I assume they are just fixated on the product, I myself was looking at either of those brands over the past few weeks & suddenly this deal appears for the Bluetti… I below posted the cable on amazon for under $13…

        • No affiliation, don't have either products.

        • ecoflow also uses the xt60
so you can buy once and use on either

    • Pretty sure I found the cable on Amazon Below, if someone can confirm I'll purchase it later today

XT60 Connector Multifunctional Portable Charging Cable Cigarette Lighter 1.5M $12.99

      • +1

Yeah that should work. Only issue would be limiting the power through bluetti app. On fast mode the Ac2a will draw 200watts from the solar input, this will most likely blow a fuse in your car.

        • @krisspy noted, I have the Tesla Model 3 & Y they don't have a physical fuse, just a E-Fuse if it were to trip.

According to Teslas manual on the DC outlet "The power socket is suitable for accessories requiring up to 12A continuous draw (16A peak)."

          • @Gomo: Normal charging mode I think draws about 130w, should be fine on that setting, otherwise silent mode limits it under 100w

        • you cannot limit the draw power from bluetti app, it's crap.
it does 100w from cig socket. that's it.

          ecoflow you can pick 4a, 6a, 8ah

          • @FoxJump: Not sure what you're on about, there's 3 charge settings and it affects how much power the unit sucks from the xt-60 input

            • @krisspy: :O
              :O
              :O

              i didnt know !
i thought the turbo, silent and the other one only applied to AC charging.
Well this is a revelation. Thank you!

        • No it won't. 200W doesn't blow your car fuse. It is over 10A which will blow the fuse. The AC2A is limited to 8.2A maximum for DC input in its specs. So it won't blow the fuse unless you have 2 sockets in your car and you are drawing more than 10A in total (the circuit is typically protected with a 15A fuse, so you would need to draw more than 15A, but there may be some older cars with just a 10A fuse).

      • Yes, this will work. The AC2A will draw only 8.2A from the socket.

    • From ebay. It is a standard car socket to XT60 cable. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/186682286570

I bought the AC2A at the same price a few weeks back — two points that might help someone:

    1) I am using mine as an UPS. The fan does cycle about every 5 mins. I haven’t had any change over issues. Fan is pretty quiet.

    2) It is possible to connect a drill battery as an external power source in the same way that you connect the Car power supply or Solar panel. I connected a 4Ah Ozito battery using an adapter from AliExpress wired onto the end of the solar panel lead successfully, the display showed 150W of input power.

    • +1

wow that's interesting! can you link to any of those adaptors? I myself have few 18V Ryobi Batteries & 36V ones, any additonal options for recharging sounds game changing!

      • Get any of those battery adapters, but you need the output to be in XT60 to connect to an AC2A.

    • +2

I too was curious, I plugged in a 22v 6 cell lipo from one of my rc's. Worked fine at 200w

      • That's a 9A constant draw from that 6S LiPO. Was it a 4500mAh pack or larger? That would be the smallest that I would allow to have a constant draw to keep it below 2C constant discharge.

        • It's a 7000mah lipo rated at 100c (maybe 30-50c constant).

It was just a tickle for the lipo, barely warm once it was discharged. The rc I use it on has a 160A esc on it, that gives it a good beating.

    • +2

yes i built my own ryobi 36v to cig socket to charge my river2 from too. really worth it for the e-mower types out there.

  • Can this power a Resmed CPAP machine ?

    • Is the draw under 300w? If yes then it could indeed power it

    • +1

Yes but probably not for long. Maybe around 4 hours if you got everything on the cpap (heater, humidifier)

      • Be better than nothing, I would assume if being used as a UPS ie for power outages this might just cover the outage time.

        • if your cpap machine use 100w
it will probably last 1hr, the inverter is inefficient compared to ecoflow

sure UPS, but then once the power comes back, AC output is not coming back on automatically, so you cannot leave it unsupervised

    • Some quick googling

      Autosense 10

      Device only 7 Watt Hours
Device + Humidifier 22 Watt Hours
Device + Humidifier + Heated Hose 34 What hours

I don't know about much about this stuff but this unit is 204 Wh, so if you ran the CPAP with everything (34Wh) it would be 204/34= 6hrs run time. Can anyone confirm this is the correct way to math this?

      • +1

        theres' a ton of inefficiencies.
say your cpap takes …. 30W
the display will probalby say 60W (for apparent power instead of real power consumption)
and the estimate will be based on that, so .. yeah it sucks.

running the same fan at max speed on river2 vs ac2a meant that, once adjusted for battery capacity, the ac2a actually provided a to-empty estimate 1hour less than the river2.

ac2a is charge depth-of-discharge limited to 90% (says so in the manual), so there's already a 10% hit.

      • +1

looks correct but the inverters are never 100% efficient - not sure on this model but I would adjust 204wh to around 85% to be save so closer to 173wh so aroun 5hrs runtime assuming using AC power - I'm not sure if these cut out if there isn't enough current draw also - e.g. I have a fridge I tried to power via DC power on a VTOMAN jump 1000 and as it cuts in and out the power draw would drop and it would turn off.

        • +2

          less than 85%
take 10% off for the depth of discharge limit of 90% - stated in manual
take 15% off for inverter inefficiency - stated in manual as "less than 15% inefficient"

so your 204 is 156ah already.
          start from there.

        • +1

they have a mode for auto-power-off when draw is too low which you can switch off.

  • +2

Also, this "flash sale" has been going on for a whole month now

    • +1

These "Power Stations" seem to be at $1 per watthour now.

The kings Lifepo4 power packs seem to be around 50 cents per watthour as the 300 wh one will be available for $150 at its lowest.

      • Took a look at the Kings range after your post and it seems their life cycle is considerably shorter than Bluetti/Ecoflow?

For eg, "Kings 12Ah Lithium Portable Power Pack Cycle life to 100% DoD is ~1000"

      • Possibly a lot less than that perhaps? (see @crankyjay's comment)

    • +1

They have been transparent about it though, so no need to post this comment in every thread - if you look on their website they clearly show they have 3 planned stages of their sale.

It's horses for courses now, with ATL's:

      • those 3 planned stages appear on every flash sale they have
once the third "and final" planned stage finishes; a new three-stage sale appears soon after, starting at stage 1.

it's starting to sound like their regular price now.

        • Yeah, I dislike how Ozbargain has devolved into guys, this is a decent price right now, maybe not the ATL, but just posting it for those who need it now, you know… or just recently - this is the ATL for 2025! a few days into the new year OMG, lol

However, we're dealing with end of life models (soon to be replaced by new model) prices now, so HODL and we may score a bargain - a real one, not a oh this is a decent deal.

        • Was going to say I would buy one of each Bluetti & EcoFlow at $179 to $200ish, but just saw @toyintheattic2's comment about EcoFlow plans to introduce a paywall "for special features"

That's a definite no go for me - not buying EcoFlow.

          • @Ultraman: i have both. i'm returning bluetti next week.

i did read abt the paywall, i plan on never updating the fw on these.
Apparently some fw updates will brick things accidentally.

so - never update the fw on your device.
i hope they dont paywall my river2s

    • when you're travelling at the speed of light, time is irrelevant !!

    • +2

The flash sales are always on. The difference is that the products on the sale are cycled through. So wait until you find a model that you like. I use the newer Bluetti units launched in 2024 onwards (AC200L, Elite 200 V2, AC240, AC60) as their features finally caught up to the other brands. The older models have limitations, so be warned. Do your own research.

      • Cheers I should spend a bit more for one of those models then I guess! And if I'm not gonna buy into the EcoFlow paywall ecosystem then I can spend more on Bluetti. Albeit, don't tell me Bluetti is gonna do the same and have their own paywall.
