A couple of corrections for the text that you copied from Amazon.

    • UHS is not a "speed class". U3 is the speed class, and the U doesn't stand for UHS. UHS-I is the interface type, it specifies the standard type of micro-SD contacts. For comparison, UHS-II is faster, but has an additional row of contacts.

    • "Speed: Up to 200MB/s read and 140MB/s write speeds" - only when you use a special card reader made by SanDisk, which overclocks the interface faster than the UHS-I specification. On ordinary readers and in cameras, you will be limited by the interface to no more than 105MB/s.

    • Thank you, good information.
I need an SD card just to top up my android tablet. This deal should be sufficient, shouldn it?

      • UHS-I is "compatible with everything", so yes. Check your tablet has a slot for it, some tablets don't have a micro-SD slot.

    • Hi Russ much appreciate your info. Specs were directly pulled from Sandisk product page, shortened. Will update it with full description.

  • Do these work with CCTVs? My previous SD card corrupted and couldn't get covered under warranty

    • +3

No because these aren't suitable for continues writing/rewriting. Warranty wouldn't be covered if you use it outside of its prescribed use. Endurance microSD cards are what you need for security cameras

    • This is what your looking for https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/890710

    • Contrary to what some say yes they work but not suitable for continuous writing. Get the endurance cards.

      • How long should they work for? Just curious.

        • Non-endurance cards like this one can die in as little as 6 months to a year when used in a continuous application (sometimes only 2 months even). Endurance cards can be expected to last as least as long as their warranty (usually 2, 3, 5, or 10 years depending on the model)

This is in part because the endurance cards have more physical memory on them for any given size, which is why they have different max sizes. For example, Sandisk non-endurance cards can be found up to 2 terabytes, while their 10-year warranty MAX ENDURANCE cards only go up to 256 gigabytes. It is safe to assume the 256gb max endurance cards have a similar number of memory cells in them to the 1 or 2 terabyte non-endurance cards.

Their controllers operate differently too to help survive being warm all the time, but the spare cells are a big part of it

I have this in my DJI Pocket 3, Action 4 and Mini Pro 4 and they work extremely well in 4K for anyone curious about use cases for this card.

If you’re recording in 4K especially big files I’d highly recommend the Sandisk or Lexar Professional Card Readers as the files are massive and takes ages to transfer by USB C.

Also JB HIFI will price match if you prefer to get it locally.

    • These are the Extreme Pro cards, they are expected to work well with those devices. Even the Extreme (non-Pro) cards should work well too.

Correct, hence why for those unsure on the use cases, I had given examples.

  • I decided to grab one of these for my emulation collection but the 1tb version. Gave me huge issues trying to copy things to it. Kept corrupting and needing to be formatted. Sent it back and they decided to give me a Sandisk Gameplay card in exchange. Same specs/price etc. This one copied everything after one hiccup but trying to loading anything takes forever. Think I'm done with this brand for that purpose. The Samsung cards work just fine.

    • Gave me huge issues trying to copy things to it. Kept corrupting and needing to be formatted.

That's a really common and big red flag for being sent a fake card. Happens all the time. They get a cheap small capacity card to appear on your device as a large one. The card fails as soon as it tries to write to the space over the capacity that it actually has.

SanDisk are fine. SanDisk are almost always the cards you see fake ones of though.

      • It does sound fake but it was definitely real. Double checked it to make sure, no tell tale signs. But sandisk replaced it with this second one so its 100% original unless they're being shifty.
