Well folks, you know what to do.
Price Match @JB and use your $10 vouchers = FREEBIE!
    Thanks OP!

    • As someone who's never tried this before, how do people normally request a price match on JB?
Would you mind explaining how you get the $10 voucher?

      • Go their web and chat with them.

      • +5

Pricematch via livechat, they’ll send you a link with a customised price matched basket for you to check out.
$10 voucher is via JB PERKS new registration, and/or birthday voucher. New account $10 voucher will be issued upon registration, while Birthday $10 will come the on the first (or early dates) of the month of your birthday, provided you have created the account before that month of the birthday. Hence if you plan to make it now, make your birthday February and that $10 bday will land on 1st(or early) Feb.
If not obvious yet, you need a spare mobile number for sms verification upon account creation.

          Much appreciated!

        • If we pricematch JB via chat and get that customised price link, is it only for purchasing it online? Or is it possible to take the pricematch link/quote to a store to pay for it in person at the counter? Would like to dodge any delivery fees and just walk to my nearest store which isn't too far away.

          • +1

@BackInTime: The link is for online checkout only, which then you can choose Delivery or Click&Collect (C&C).
Check out online and C&C from your preferred store, which is free.

@noelhoi: Thanks noelhoi. I'll try to do it that way. cheers

There's a 'Live Chat' button on the top of the page where you can directly ask JB staff for a pricematch.

The $10 voucher is a welcome bonus to their JB Perks membership. It's free, but requires a new phone number for each account.

Didn't even think about doing it this way, true OZbargainer. Thanks!

  • Everyone - what is your best inexpensive (well, this is OzBargain) recommended dashcam these days ?

    • +1

I DIY installed this about two weeks ago.

      https://amzn.asia/d/eeVMuez

Seems to function great and amazon has great customer service if there is ever an issue with the product.

This 64GB deal is alright but I picked up a 128GB card for $13.80 in November, so I’m holding out for a price around that mark.

      • Any good DIY installation video?

        • +2

YouTube one specific to your car model.

Only then will you get the best instructions on where to pass thru the cable in the car.

      • Thanks so much for the heads up on this one! I just bought the touch screen model for my new Van. I was expecting to pay more to get this kinda kit. 64gig card that it comes with will do for now.

Cheers. I had $20 storecash that expired tomorrow.

  • Thanks OP, got it with the voucher for $2 from JB

  • any deals on 128gb ?

  • +9

the Pro endurance is probably better for dashcams.

    • Yes I'm pretty sure these are not designed for dashcams

    • +1

This. For dashcam we need samsung pro endurance , sandisk high/max endurance or similar cards.

  • Will JB price beat The Good Guys considered they belong to the same boss?

  • Weren't there issues with dashcams and Samsung?

  • +3

$12.50 at Amazon, or $22.50 for the 128GB. Not brilliant prices but OK considering delivered.

  • Samsung yes !

  • Is it good enough to be used for data backup?

    • +3

sdcards are like one of the worse storage mediums for backup haha they fail a lot.

      • Ahhh, right. Thanks.

  • Are these okay for PIR motion cameras? They are not recording constantly.

    • Working fine for me so far for both PIR and constant recording past year.

  • NOT FOR SECURITY CAMERAS. Learnt the hard way.

    • Please explain?

      • Because these aren't designed for continuous writing/rewriting that you need for security camera/dashcams (unless you are only using them for a very low amount of activity on a motion-detection only setting, etc). These are good for really high file size like 4k videos or top quality photos, i.e. DSLR Cameras, Camcorder, laptop, etc. For dash cams and security cameras, you need endurance cards.

        • Been working in mine for ages so i guess its a bit of a lottery.

  • Isnt it too low read rate for dashcam?

  • do people sign up for a new account to get the $10 jb perks? ive already got a signed up account
