Was looking around for a non subscription smart doorbell…
Saw this was rated highly here so started looking around.

Was $318 at Amazon and $319 at Bunnings (And decent stock around 3000 for Bunnings), you know that that means… price beat baby.
Camel usually sits at $300-$320, so could wait for better deal if thats how you swing :)

Waiting to hear back from the masses here if this is worth it or I should spend the dollar or two more on the 'newest' model…

One of my first actual posts here, hope is good.

UPDATE - Better Bunnings price match using this

My doorbell camera died after 18 months, I had three home base 2 go faulty as they lost their storage memory. Bought a home base 3 and it was faulty could not detect the hard drive when installed and also could not save videos to usb. Took a month for a replacement which is working good.
The new homebase is alot better than the old one it has a better range and features.
If i had to start over I would not get Eufys but I have 9 cameras so its hard to change.

    • The new homebase is alot better than the old one it has a better range and features.

      which version of homebase?

If i had to start over I would not get Eufys but I have 9 cameras so its hard to change.

which brand would you get instead?

what are Eufys camera models do you have?

  • Comes with a subwoofer lol.

If anyone's after just the doorbell add-on, I successfully got Bunnings to price beat Retravision and scored it for $200 this week, $80 off RRP.

For some reason have found these guys to consistently be cheaper of EUFY all the time. Particualrly when they already have a sale which is the case not and can add a promo code

Use code RETURN20 brings it down to $255.96
    https://goodbuyz.com.au/products/eufy-video-doorbell-2k-batt…

doubt Bunnings will match that given it required a code to get the cheaper price

      • did you pricematch in store or online?

been using this for 4 years. working great

    • does the camera auto record when it detects someone approaching or only when someone press the door bell?

      • auto record

        • do you have wifi mesh or anything to make wifi security cameras don't drop out/fail to connect?

I got imou wifi camera/s and it randomly drops outs/fails to connect

          • @pinkybrain: the eufys run on their own little ecosystem back to the homebase, so if your wifi/internet drops out, they will still be doing their thing and you will be able to access the recordings once you come back online.

Having said that, yes i run a meshed router next to my homebase that connects to the main router in the back of the house

      • yep auto, you can also go to settings and play with sensitivity settings

        • is this wifi or wired?

also do you have wifi mesh or anything to make wifi security cameras don't drop out?

          • @pinkybrain: all on wifi. I have a wifi extender in middle of house so works fine. my house length is 30m and I have cameras front to back

            • @ozbargainerlife1:

my house length is 30m and I have cameras front to back

Are you cameras mounted outdoor e.g. front porch or inside behind the front house window etc?
so you never have an dropouts or fail to connect issue for your cameras (indoor or outdoor) due to the wifi extender?

all on wifi. I have a wifi extender in middle of house so works fine

Is the wifi extendered connected to your main router via ethernet cable?
would a wifi mesh be better than wifi extender?

What model is your router and wifi extender?

how many cameras you got and are they all eufy or mixed of different brands?

I got a few imou wifi camera/s and noticed sometimes I get random dropout/failed to connect issue
and I need to reboot my router or power off/on the cameras which is annoying when it occurs
and means I may not be able to see the camera if I am not at home etc when it occurs.

  • Got eufy cameras, doorbell and the fingerprint lock, great all round no issues after 12 months, literally saving money because the ring subscription fees were crazy

How does this compare to Reolink?

  • Does any one know (or actually done this) if you can set up your own mp3 doorbell chime with this?

My current (non security) doorbell allows for the uploading of mp3 music samples which we would like to replicate with a security camera doorbell if at all possible.

There is nothing like 'who let the dogs out - ooh ooh ooh' blasting through the house when the doorbell is pressed… or my current personal favourite sample 'Someone's knocking on the door, someone's ringing the bell, do me a favour and let them in'…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E66FIkV24Ro (23secs to 38secs).

    • 'The White Stripes - My Doorbell' should be default
