Kenwood MultiPro Go Food Processor - Storm Blue $99 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ In-Store) @ Harvey Norman

370

I bought this with the voucher I got from this other deal, and this food processor has absolutely CHANGED the way I cook.

Basically the amount of times I use the knife to chop things has reduced considerably, and cooking time has reduced considerably as well. It's saving my wrists / arthritis pain. 10/10.

No more chop chop chop (x20). Now it's brr brr done.

Easy to clean as well. Just under running tap water seems fine enough.

Three chopping options - blend, slice, or grate. For the latter two, there's this other attachment which basically shoots the chopped food out of the machine, so you can conveniently have it straight to a bowl.

One downside is that it is made of plastic, not glass, but you aren't going to find anything with glass anywhere near this price. Just be sensible with it, don't drop it etc.

5 year warranty (!)

Same price at Amazon and GG

    • Good for anyone with woolies gift cards though.

  • Can it chop carrots into thicker slices or only thin slices?

    • +1

Thin. There's no adjustment, it'll be max about 5mm if you force it down. If you let gravity do it job it'll be probably around 3mm.

    Was $129

I've had this for about a year and love it. I live in a 1-person place with limited space. This doesn't take up much shelf space & is light to move around, unlike most food processors.

I place a medium Pyrex glass bowl beneath it and use the chute to make a lot of stuff at once such as slicing potatoes for a potato bake. You can just keep slicing until the bowl underneath is full, despite the processor bowl itself being tiny.

The only downside which irks me a little is that it's not self contained/stackable. There isn't a little tray to store away the slicing disc etc. For something that's sold on being space saving, it's annoying that it takes up more room than it should need to.

    • Is it cordless?

      • No. The cord is about a metre long.

      • No but there's a groove around the base so the cord is wrapped around that & hidden away.

    • According to the promo video from kenwood, you should be able to store everything inside of the processor itself? Including both the slicing disc and the regular blade

  • seems to be the average price on amazon

I have this and love it.
I do a kilo of cheese at a time, most grated to add to dinners and some sliced for crackers.

    • What dinners pizzas, pasta, salads? DON'T LEAVE US HANGING !!

      • Everything.
All of those and kids even pile it on mashed potatoes. Often Vegemite and cheese scrolls or pizza scrolls using a scone mix.
I keep it in a glass container and it stays fresh for ages.

I would have thought dropping would be a issue with glass rather than plastic. :)

  • How much are ones made of glass?

This is great for the cook and bad for the cleaner

    • +1

      It goes in the dishwasher

  • How does this improve on the Kmart one?

    • Price is improved, for one

    • I don't know about the Kmart one you're talking about.

I doubt that one has 5 years warranty though

Thank god I’m not coming around to yours to eat

That's why I never have a hot drink when offered at any hairdressers. You could get a cup from a previous customer that's just been quickly rinsed out. Who wants to leave with hepatitis.

      • -1

Hepatitis? Is hot drink a euphemism?
Have I been getting my haircut the wrong way?

        • Some forms of hepatitis are spread through saliva as are other diseases. Not worth it for a mediocre tea or coffee.

          • @suzta: My guess is that you've never been to a public swimming pool or a crowded beach ever ?

            • @SuperLate: I'm sure public pools are manky, beaches less so.

Some people have very lax standards when it comes to hygiene (cat crawling over everything in the kitchen, people drinking juice straight from the bottle then putting it back in the fridge etc) so I am discerning about whose hospitality I accept.

    • Lol fair enough

For just chopping and having a glass bowl, I use one of these - https://www.amazon.com.au/Russell-Hobbs-RHMFP5BLK-Stainless-…

Lid is plastic but lid and bowl go in the dishwasher, I hand wash the blade. Goes on sale regularly.

Wish I got a commission but it's Harvey Norman. Enjoy dude! I'm certainly enjoying mine, it's like my best friend in the kitchen now.

the partner loves it! thanks again

  • I'm tempted, looks nice and compact.

I have an expensive heavy duty food processor thats so bulky I just never take it out unless im making something that needs a lot of chopping. Hoping this is kinda small and quick to clean that i'd use it regularly?

    • Perhaps. Depending on your budget, if you can get one of those for sub-$100 it's probably worth taking the risk.

On the one hand, any food processor is going to have more bits & bobs to wash up compared to just using a knife & a chopping board, so you may not end up using it as much as you anticipate.

Conversely, because it is so light and portable and so small it could live on your benchtop, you may indeed end up using it often.

I have a small kitchen & only cook for myself. I realised I used large or heavy appliances less often than I anticipated because they are awkward or take up a lot of space.

As part of planning for a new kitchen I starting thinking about how I actually use my kitchen, not how some never-going-to-happen version of me may someday.

I got rid of a lot of quality stuff i rarely used & bought more compact versions - e.g. I bought this little food processor with the chute so it's still capable of doing large batches, got the little Kmart compressor ice cream machine instead of the larger, heavier Aldi one, and swapped Scanpan fry pans for Tefal Ingenio with a detachable handle. That last one I wish I did years ago! It saves so much cupboard space not having long handles sticking out.

Everything is far more suited to my space and lifestyle now. (The real game changer though was installing the Kmart metal pull outs in my cupboards & using those cupboards as my pantry. So convenient and practical! The pantry now houses appliances & some overflow food. So much more functional for me. I wish I did it sooner. Only cost $100 for 4 pullouts. It will last me until I get deep drawers put in.)

Thanks for sharing your experience Suzta. Bit sceptical of your frypan choice but nice to know by going compact you saw your usage of them go up too.

Looks like I missed this deal but going to pull the trigger via Amazon :)

  • Thanks got one from JB

  • Can this dice veggies into small chunks?

    • It cannot "dice". Can slice, grate or blend only.

      • I feel like dicing/chopping is a food processor's most basic function. Is this one not lacking the most important function?

        • slice=chop, how are you gonna get diced from a processor? it cuts too fast

          • +1

@Phorest Grump: I agree with your point but there are processors like the kitchenaid that do dicing.

            • @Osiris: Yes, it might be better to spend a bit more to get one appliance that does chopping, slicing and grating. The kitchenaid ones look pretty compact as well.
