Tyre Advice - VW Tiguan Allspace

Looking for tyre advice for a 2021 VW Tiguan.

Not looking for the cheapest but something that is good value and safe. Sydney urban driving mostly with an annual roadtrip up / down the cost. Seen a million different type of tyres within a brand - do they actually mean anything and worth the price differential?

Any well known brands will do.

There aren't millions of type, just few that fits your specification.

    • Not a loss… Pirellis are shit…

      • P zeros are great.

  • Just buy Michelin, they’re expensive but you get what you pay for

    • Michelin

This. Do not buy French car, but buy Michelin, and if you can, have a French redhead/brunette who actually owns you!
If you after a blonde, then German!

Here is a quick cheat sheet for Pirelli and Michelin from what I had figured out.

    Pirelli
    P zero - Performance
    Scorpion* - SUV and cars
    Cinturato - Entry level

    Michelin
    Pilot Sport - Performance
    Primacy - SUV and cars

*Scorpion has dozens of different models within the range as they made them OEM for several brands e.g 'MO' for Mercedes.
The newest is the Scorpion MS (I just got a set so too early to recommend) but seems to be the go for most SUVs.

You also need to know this information, not just the year, brand and model of car.

    Gees, tyres are just tyres.

Its not like there's been some great advances in tyre technology recently. They all do the same job. There's some that are cheap and nasty that'll do a crap job in some circumstances. There's some that do a great job in all circumstances but cost a fortune.

If you just avoid those, and drive sensibly, not right on the limit or right up the car in front's arse it doesn't matter what you've got on the car.

    • Kinda agree. Althpugh there are definite bias in designs for sport, regular or cheap ass tyres.

Cheap, hardwearing (long lasting), good grip. Pick any two. Go to your tyre dealer and get some recommendations from them.

Its an SUV. Dont get a sport tyre. Dont get the chespest tyre you can find.
