$6.50 Cashback on Optus 20GB 28-Day Plan $12 (Ongoing $35 Per 28 Days, 50GB First 3 Recharges, New Sign Ups Only) @ Cashrewards

141

This isn't as good a deal as it was in June and November last year. But 40GB 50GB data (first 3 recharges), 5GB bonus & unlimited weekend data with AutoRecharge (until 16/3/2025) for $5.50 after cashback is something to consider.

  • How come you removed your own upvote?

I removed it thinking I mistakenly pressed the upvote when I posted the deal.
Seems like the up vote is default from the OP when the deal is posted.
Not really familiar with how things work. 😁

      • Maybe a mod can fix it, just report it.

  • Is this one available with esim? Thanks

    • Terms and Conditions: …To receive advertised price for first recharge via eSIM, you’ll need an eSIM compatible device and most recent version of My Optus app.

Yes…but have you correctly interpret ALL the T&Cs, eg see comments below ?

  • Interesting, no condition that I can see about needing to activate the SIM card in a certain time to get cashback. So this would mean that we can stock up on these. Just need to only buy one per transaction.

  • if I port out within 30 days am I still eligible for cashback?

    • Doubt it, but who knows?

Buyer beware - cashback failed from Optus / Cashrewards last year, leaving many out of pocket https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/843556

Cashrewards customer service were not interested in chasing up Optus.

Buyers' interpretation is known after 90+ days…status of your money-back claim.

OP/CashRewards noted 'new sign ups only', while Optus noted 'New services only'…whatever it means ?

        'first ever sign up'

Gamblers may want to consider the above @ https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/843556/comments

Money-back system is NOT transparent with vague T&Cs which is subject to interpretations. ANY carriers &/or CR/TCP/SB can turn on you anytime & your money-back claims are ALWAYS @ risk. Proof: read money-back posts.

FYI: When porting in to Optus, if you get to step 3 and it tells you this:

The porting process for this number requires manual input. Please start a chat with us so we can sort this out.

Start the process again but this time turn auto recharge on and it should then let you do it online. It worked for me today. Magically turning auto recharge on fixes the 'issue' and it no longer requires manual input.

It seems to be a ploy to get you to contact them so they can try and sell you a month to month phone plan on the live chat. Which makes sense that turning on auto recharge avoids this. If that doesn't work (it should), then call them to port in instead, it appears they aren't told to try and upsell on a plan so it will be a lot less frustrating and quicker.

Once you have ported in, you can easily turn off auto recharge in the app.

      They are sneaky hey.

  • CR tracking email arrived less than 10 minutes after purchase.

@Edge12: pls update your OzBargain post: buyers must use valid name & address since ID-matching (eg driver licence) will be done before StarTrack hand over your parcel.

Wasted half a day trying to sort out delivery issue & failed. Maybe eSIM ?

Traps are everywhere & I question myself monthly whether the money-back system for these monthly sims are worth it, with cost going up ?
