My SO is not happy with the Google Chromecast HD experience of watching tennis on 9Now App with frequent stuttering and pauses to load.
If we use the laptop browser 9Now there are no issues. Wondering what may be causing the glitches and how I can improve the experience.
NBN 100/20 (HFC) - Netgear R7000P router running dd-WRT (offering both 2.4 & 5 wifi) - Chromecast HD (same room)
By disconnecting the power supply (not just putting it into standby with the remote)
Test it on your phone running 9Now app and see if it is the same issue. If same thing then issue is with 9now app and not your tv or chromecast.

workaround is to connect your laptop to the tv with hdmi or even wirelessly via chromecast (share the chrome tab to chromecast) and still watch on tv
Can also try deleting 9now app and reinstalling it? Or clearing the app cache if that is possible?

Stopping the App and clearing the cache does seem to have eliminated the problems up we were having.
Step one will solve the problem.

User experience is better than terrestrial FTA, let alone their sh@tty catch up app portals

@Xyzzy: i stumbled on it recently on whirpool while setting up fire tv stick - tivimate gets all the attention but the simplicity if this app perfect. the PC version works a treat as well!
Change the refresh rate on the Chromecast, If using the new Google Streamer try setting it to automatic or force 50Hz. Automatic never worked on the Google Chromecast with TV for me, forcing it worked but changing it manually between apps can be tedious.
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
