Replacement Wi-Fi Adapter for Laptop

I need some help here, I have an older MSI GS70 Stealth laptop that currently has a Killer 1525 wifi card in it. I've been trying to look for a suitable replacement for it but can't seem to find any laptop wifi adapters really being sold by any Aussie re/etailers. Trying to see if I can get a Wifi 6/6e card as my router supports devices with it but not having much luck. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas of a suitable replacement. Note that the Killer 1525 card is a NGFF form factor and not a mini PCI-E device so any replacement card would need to be one that would match that form factor and connector

This is the only semi-helpful reference I could find to the existing card https://www.newegg.ca/p/17Z-00EK-00C84.

Would appreciate any help with this one! Cheers!

    This one won't fit? https://www.amazon.com.au/Bluetooth-5400Mbps-Wireless-802-11…

Might be worth a trip to Technocity Capitol Square to rummage around their old parts bins. There'll be a dust covered one in that building somewhere.

Hmmm, that one just may, I might give it a go

    Have you considered aliexpress?

My old laptop had a crappy MediaTek wifi card and I bought a new wifi card off aliexpress which still works perfectly to this day.

Will look at that. And that's another thing, I want to ensure I get an Intel based card, not a rubbish MediaTek one so totally get you. Thanks for sharing that one mate!

NGFF cards are more commonly referred to as m.2 (the physical connector).
You should have no trouble. I second aliexpress.

  • I am not sure about MSI, but Lenovo and HP WIFI cards are BIOS locked. They will only accept cards on the whitelist sold by the manufacturer.

  • If your laptop uses an M.2 2230 Key E slot for its Wi-Fi card, then just go Aliexpress and buy any AX200 or AX210 card.

Don't buy a AX201, AX211 or AX411 as they use CNVi interface which only works with specific Intel CPUs.

  • Just wanted to drop in an update to say that I grabbed a new card from Amazon, whacked it in and just had to let Windows grab the drivers and everything seems to be working great, connected to my router wirelessly at full Wifi 6 speeds.

Thanks to everyone who commented! Much appreciated!
