When do u need to activate it by?

    • +3

      From Lebara:

In any event, the Lebara SIM must be activated within 365 days of purchase.

      • Oh nice!

    • +1

From the Ts&Cs: Must be activated within 365 days of purchase.

  • Is it also using optus shared network along with vodafone? As vodafone is not that great. Read somewhere online

    • Optus has struck a deal with TPG (Vodafone) to share most of their regional network beginning in about 10 days. Metro network will remain as it is.

      • Will it for all networks using Vodafone like kogan etc?

        • Yes

The Multi Operator Core Network (MOCN) network-sharing deal will improve coverage for Optus and Vodafone network customers in regional Australia. The agreement will allow mobile customers on with TPG brands: Vodafone, TPG, iiNet, felix, Lebara (and those that use its network like Kogan) to use the Optus network in regional Australia.

    • Yes it will be and being rolled out (new rural network).

Kogan Small might just edge this out for me. Lebara is $10 cheaper (with the discount from the EDR points). However Kogan is 5 days longer, 20GB more over the year and doesn't ration your usage month-to-month.

    • Lebara doesn't ration out your data per month.

      • +2

The terms and conditions clearly note a rationing out of data per 30-day block:
"For Extra Small 360 Day, Small 360 Day, Medium 360 Day, Large 360, all inclusions are delivered in 30 day blocks. All unused inclusions expire after 30 days or upon next recharge, whichever occurs first and do not roll over to the next 30 day period aside from banked plan data"

      Thanks. Posted
Lebara can be cheaper if one uses the 10% off with Everyday Extra membership.

      • Would you know if Everyday Insurance 10% off also works on this Prepaid Starter Pack SIM?

        • Not sure but worth a try if you have it.

      • Yes, Lebara can be cheaper than Catch. 2000 points (~$10), 10% off Everyday Extra ($11.90) and discounted Woolworths gift card (~5% or ~$5.95).

Does anyone know how Lebara compares to Catch though?

  • Does Lebara have international wifi calling?

    • International calls

    • +1

@colt75 I rang Lebara 1300 126 122 and was told yes and to refer to:

    • While they have international calling while in Australia, I'm guessing it won't apply if you are overseas. In other words, will Wifi calling work if you're not in Australia? I've read that it does for Boost and Telstra. I know it definitely does not for Optus. I've looked at Vodafone's website, and it specifically says, "No, Wi-Fi Calling is not available while roaming internationally." So, if you were hoping to use it while overseas, it very likely will not since Lebara is an MNVO using Vodafone's network.

  • -1

Leb was in my experience slow with poor reception compared to Boost (and probably Optus MVNO's)

    • Probably in some locations. I haven't used Lebara.
I'm with Telstra and found Telstra > Boost > amaysim (best customer service).

  • +1

I think 3 only with points I bought 4 and only claimed for 3

  • Which country included in international call?

  • can I receive messages when overseas without purchasing the internation roaming add-on?

    • +2

Yes I received in India and Malaysia without any roaming plan

  • I just activated a lebara 30 day sim,can I buy this starter pack and get customer service to apply this to my same number.

    • This is meant to be for a new service and not for recharge so technically no. However before purchasing, you could try your luck with customer service (Lebara 1300 126 122) and check if they are willing to do it for you.

  • Collect 2000 Everyday Rewards Points

@trixieb Where do I activate this offer? Checked under ER app but nothing yet, assuming it will be added to your acc with the purchase?

    • +1

It does not require activation as it's a promotion for all EDR members (advertised in the catalogue). Just scan your EDR card. If you have Everyday Extra and not used it yet, I think you would be able to get 10% off as well.

      • Thanks. I don't have Everyday Extra yet every month it offers 10% off on one purchase, same with you?

I'll try my luck this time around.

        • You would use the 10% off in your biggest WW shop once a month. There is another separate 10% off at Big W too once a month.

          • @trixieb: “ The Extra Discount cannot be used for or on any smoking or tobacco products and accessories, liquor, gift cards (including iTunes), mobile recharge, Woolworths Mobile,”

Bit iffy whether it can be used or nor. The Lebara deal technically isn’t a recharge. Could be considered a sim with recharge though.

  • Can I use the 4% off woolies voucher to buy this?

    • +1

You can pay with discounted gift cards and scan your EDR card.

  • +2

I am using lebara currently. definitely wouldn't recommend. Worst signal reception, 90% of the time I see only one line on signal bar and internet speed is also not great.

I switched from amaysim to lebara hoping it would perform similar. But amaysim is miles better than lebara.

  • +1

do any of t hese long life deals ever use telstra?

    • +1

Boost and Lycamobile have long expiry deals and use the Telstra network. Boost costs more, as does Lycamobile (but not as much as Boost).

      • +1

@jlien Lyca Mobile has changed from the Telstra network to the Vodafone network since June 2024. Customer service from Lyca seems to be inferior compared to the others.

Telstra has acquired Boost. Boost Mobile is the only Telstra MVNO that uses the full Telstra network and would be my pick.

Another option is Everyday Mobile from Woolworths (with long expiry deals) who uses the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network.

        • thanks for that.

Yep i've looked at boost and woolies; but they were significantly more expensive for a 365 day plan.

My usage requirements are extraordinarily low (0 data, <10 sms's/calls per month) as it's a secondary sim in my phone.
Aldi payg may actually be best for me, but they don't do esim and my sim slot is tied up with my workplace's sim.

  • @trixieb just visited the store and the guy has no idea about 2000 extra ponits, he checked the catalog and could not find anything.

    Can anyone confirm?

    • +1

The offer is on page 51 of the catalogue. Here's the link.

Previous similar EDR offer for a different brand mentioned:

Points may take 14 business days to be loaded onto Everyday Rewards Card from date of purchase.

It doesn't surprise me that staff had no idea. That's my experience too at Woolworths and Coles when I've enquired about the catalogue specials.

      • Click your link I get product failed to load error.

        • Not sure why. It works for me. Try this - go to Page 51 of the catalogue.

          • @trixieb: Page 51 of the catalog present in lieu of my post-code has something about soft plastic recycling.
            https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/catalogue/view#view=catal…
Looks like this deal is not available to all wollies.

            • @Jenbrook: Let me know your postcode and will find the right page.

              • @trixieb: 2477 Gonellabah is my closest wollies.
Looks like we get QLD specials.

                • +1

@Jenbrook: Sorry try page 52. For some reason it still shows Page 51 for me but I think it's actually on page 52.

                  • @trixieb: Awesome thx, was instore today and they had no idea, they gave me the 10 page paper catalog and said if it’s not in there it’s not on special. I’ll screen shot this and try again tomorrow.

                    • @Jenbrook: It requires scanning your Everyday Rewards card for $119 and the 2000 points will be in your account later.

      • I just bought this today and can confirm 2000 EDR points were added within 2 hours, ymmv.

The monthly 10% discount didn't stack though which is a shame. Spent about $460 including the groceries and they refused the monthly 10% discount.

Will file a complaint as this seems to be a dodgy practice to me.

        • Thanks for the update. The 10% discount worked for the amaysim SIM card.

        • +1

@IpGem 10% discount worked for this Lebara SIM today.

          • @trixieb: Thanks, i don't have everyday extra, may be that's why it didn't work for me? I guess you pay a subscription for everyday extra?

            • @IpGem: Yes. There is also 10% discount from Woolies mobile and insurance. They may work too.

    • anyone know if it's 2000 points for each SIM purchased?

or 2000 total, even if you buy 2 x SIMs?

      • +1

2000 points for each SIM up to a limit of 3 SIMs per Everyday Rewards member.

  • Is this offer of getting 2000 points still valid?

    • +1

Ends today. Last day to buy from Woolworths.
