This would be my pick for these types of personal fans. Being able to hang it around your neck pointing upward or sitting it on a flat surface makes it better than the Life4 below that really only can be held in the hand.

  • Is the charging port usb-c? How long does it take to recharge?

    • +2

The product description says it's USB-C

      • +1

is it proper usb-c or will you need to charge with a usb-A to C cable like some cheaper devices?

        • +3

I have one each for my family members. This is proper usb c.

I can even use my laptop usb c-pd charger and it works too.

        • +2

Man this is underrated question. Bought some USB C led lights tried to charge with my phone charger or type C to type C on my PC. No charge. Used included crap a to C, it works.

  • Any suggestions for a holder or something similar for a pram?

  • Thanks OP. This has been in my cart for a few days now.

  • thanks op. ordered one.

  • How's the noise on this one compared to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/889554 for anyone who owns both?

    • I'm wondering the same.

But I'm guessing this is quieter, based on the design and fan blades

      • +1

I came across this review that demonstrated the sound. The reviewer claims it is "quite quiet" - but after hearing the pitch, I'm still a bit skeptical whether the noise is more dampened… that said the reviewer did state that it's still not suitable for a library environment, which is what my work office can sometimes feel.

        • +1

NGL, it just sounds like wind noise to me. Which is ideal IMO.

The one you linked and the others he compared to, has a more aggressive fan blade design to squeeze air through the slits.

Usually it means the fans have to spin faster to avoid stalling/turbulence and push the air through the slits

          • @Butt Scratcher: Yeah true - I found the review he did for the Life 5 - which is what I have and find it a bit loud. And he described noise sort of the same as the fan in this deal.

          • @Butt Scratcher: The design that squeezes air out is louder and more annoying sound IMO. Fine outdoors but not in a quiet place.

            • +1

@melk: Yes, i agree. I probably wasnt clear but thats what im implying.

Spinning faster tends to be louder and have a winey sound

  • Thx OP. Bought one similar to this while in Japan from Donqi last year, so gonna see how this one fare in comparison.

  • +2

I looked up reviews and stumbled across a YouTube reviewer who tested several different JisuLife models - the Life7 seemed to have relatively good consistent airflow / wind speed at varying distances but relatively poor battery life (3.5hrs at highest fan speed and 19hrs at lowest fan speed).

I don't know if I should link to the reviewer - I'm not associated with them but you can just google search "life7 review" and check out reviews for yourself.

    • I'm guessing the bigger fan blades will push more air and need bit more power to achieve that.

    • Should definitely link your sources if you're not associated (and still link them even if you are, just with a disclaimer). It's always good to know where people are getting their info from. Cheers for the battery life insight, I was wondering what it was like at higher speeds

  • thanks op ordered one!

  • The dude in the photo is gold! Haha

  • Arriving February. Deal breaker

    • Mine is arriving tomorrow so I guess they ran out of stock on hand.

I can't understand why people use these.

It seems like less effort to deal with some heat than to have your arm bent out uncomfortably and hold this up.

    • I think people buy this when going for overseas trip in humid countries like in asia.

      • Ok, thats fair.

PS. I can't understand downvoting someone's thought into oblivion when a simple response would be a lot more constructive and probably help others too.

    • The Life7 has 3 ways of using it. In your hand moving it around your body, folded sitting on something or hanging on the lanyard pointing up towards your face. Once a week I get to sit in my car for 45mins so this helps make that bearable. I also find it very handy for drying roll on deodorant when the humidity is bad. Lots of uses.
