Looking for the cheapest and easiest way to makes 5 settled card purchases. Trying to do the ubank referral. Cheers.
Easiest Way to Get 5 Settled Card Purchases?
Comments
I don't really buy stuff that often, I'm a student. Even when eating out with my friends we just transfer the payer. Maybe I'll just go to woolies and buy a bottle of water 5 times.
Buy one bottle but use split payment.
Isn't the way split payment works is that it allows you to split between cash and card? Are you suggesting I can split a transaction into 5 parts then pay each part with the same card?
Buy some pencil cases and protractors and stuff.
Just do five 10c donations at Coles/Woolies checkout or five $1 amazon gift cards
this was the kind of stuff I was looking for thanks
You can split payment at the terminal and keep using the same card (I haven't tested this 5x in a row, but at least 2-3x should work okay).
thanks
@Undercut 2241: It works 5x in a row, I did it to fulfill the ubank requirement
Just do 5 x 1c
Cheapest things you can find in coleworth x 5 and self check out.
Buy 5 cars.
go to coles/ aldi/ iga/ woolworths
buy 3 grapes
then
1 cucumber
then 1 orange
then 1 apple
then 1000 rolls of toilet paperif you dont have money for that, message ur details, password, mother maiden name, pin, tfn, measurements (o.o) address, last name, middle name
and ill spend for yai got ya br0
You don't buy groceries? Take public transport? Fuel?
All answers far too complicated. Procedure:
Go to coles.
Buy 1 thing.
Split payment 6 times.
First 5 are 1c card transactions on your ING or whatever you are trying to activate.
6th transaction on miles/cashback card to pay the remaining balance. This is the right answer - Also could use a discounted supermarket gift card to pay the balance.
FYI - The Coles self-serve UI allows you complete the multiple card transactions with fewer button presses than the Woolworths UI so I do my monthly 5x at Coles instead.
Ill raise you:
pay balance with discounted supermarket gift card bought with a categories choice groceries card bought with an airmiles card
Make sure you're satisfying an initial spend requirement for a sign up bonus on that airmiles card. Gotta secure the best ROI on points for each dollar you spend.
@daanish: maybe buy the categories choice card with a pre-paid mastercard you buy with airmiles card. (You get banned from your health fund pretty regularly for this btw :) )
Or if you're buying 5 things at the self-service checkout, just pay for them one at a time
and miss out on airmiles and discount maximisation? Never
Two ways I usually do it (if for whatever reason I'm not making regular card purchases:
1 - what everyone is saying, partial payment at Colesworth
2 - I make a few purchases with PayPal Pay In 4, then at the start of the month I can go in and make partial payment of 1-10c on any of the oustanding payments. The rest can go on a normal points paying credit card.A few replies in here have been autism-grade strategies to get another $3 of spend onto some other card with points attached to it. I realise that frugal smartarsery is what we're all here for, but they're operating at a higher level than me. I'm a humble, street-level smartarse.
Buy 5 things that you would normally buy in a month?
