I suspect that most would be cheaper from AliExpress, especially with upcoming AliExpress sales.

    • Probably faster shipping too if you go with a Choice seller.

      • Both official Anbernic stores on Aliexpress ("Anbernic Official Store" and "Anbernic Direct Store") are Choice stores.

        • I bought a blue RG40XX H and a case from Anbernic Official Store and they sent me a clear RG35XX H and no case. The weird thing was that the mailing bag it came in had a label for my exact order underneath one that had been stuck over the top.

I have since done multiple purchases from another seller, Ampown and have had no issues. Hope this helps someone.

          • @Jay43: Bought my
Trimui Brick off Ampown in November and it arrived in 12 days to metro QLD. Am happy.

    • Maybe a bit off topic but what anbernic device are you using this month? (I say this month as there will probably be another 69 devices announced and released between now and next month.)

I haven't bought any handheld in a while, but the following are still on my wishlist:

        • Anbernic RG35XXSP/Miyoo Flip
        • Anbernic RG34XX
        • Trimui Brick

I still have the Miyoo Mini Plus, Anbernic RG35XXH and Trimui Smart Pro which are more or less the same as the above, which is why I haven't picked up any new devices.

        • Trimui black is such a cutie

        • The RG35XXSP is excellent. My kids love it.

I'm planning to buy a second unit if the price is right.

        • Big fan of my Brick. Minui is fantastic, but if you prefer something else there is active development for knulli, muOS, and even Android via GammaOS.

I wonder if the Retroid Pocket 5 from the Moorechip Store (Retroids parent company) will be cheaper during the AliExpress sales.

  • Any that can emulate Sw|t*h games?

    • 556 can apparently do some

      • barely for anything 2D platformer..

    • Unlikely to play games you probably want to play. Some indie games will work but it's just not powerful enough.
My retroid is more powerful but still can't play much. You would need something like the Odin 2

    • +1

The most powerful Anbernics can only do 2D versions of those games. 3D ones will not be playable.

You want a Retroid Pocket 5. Alternatively it would be the Ayn ODIN 2 variants. Or Ayaneo with the Neo or the Pocket DMG.

Expect these to be expensive with the "cheapest" to be the Retroid ones that will cost >$450. To do it properly, the unit needs a Snapdragon chip (SD865 is minimum to play).

I got the Pocket DMG recently and it blows anything out of the water as the most powerful Gameboy ever. But it's very expensive and once you get to that level of $$$, you better off getting a Steam Deck or any of the similar competitors (Asus/Gigabyte/MSI) running Windows.

  • How hard would it be to buy a RG 40XXV and set it up if you've never done something like this before? I really want to play the old Pokemon games.

It’s extremely easy if you’re a little tech literate- and have good understanding of how to stay safe online

    • +1

Very easy if you get one that comes with an SD card because they pre-load it with ROMs.

Easy enough if you buy your own SD card(reccommended) and load your own ROMs.

      • Always good advice to buy your own card. Bundled ones don't last long. But some may see value in not having to obtain rom files through other means.

  • Thanks OP. This is good deal. Got the rg407v for $201 AUD which converts to $129 USD. Cheapest on Ali is $147 USd ex gst.

I always found that after adding GST and conversion, AliExpress comes out to be the same if there is a good deal on eBay.

With combined 15% and then circa 18% with eBay plus this is a good deal.
The discount gets a bit funny as technically it should be around $196 with $49 off with plus but somehow it only reduce circa $44 with plus.

The discount excludes the gst added on. If that affects the calculation

  • I got one of these with the least amount of games. Is there a way to get a download link for the most games to load them on my own sd card.

    • Google will be your friend here

    • +1

Been a while since I made something up like that. But internet archive used to have lots of good rom sets by console. Like the guy said above though; there should be a fair few rom packs / collections on google which encompass multiple retro consoles.

    • try "done set two" or "tiny best set go"

Is anyone aware of any anbernic or other branded handheld that also has a camera on the back for taking photos with?
